11/4/08 - 12:45pm - Surgery Update

We just got a call with an update. Kayleigh is off the pump, but the doctors are still working. I am not completely positive what they mean by that, but my best guess is that she is off the bypass pump. The lady with the update just relays messages, so I don't think she would know if we asked her details. If she is off the pump, then that MAY mean she is not on ECMO either. The ECMO acts as a heart/lung system, sort of like the bypass. Also, if she is off the pump, then they have already warmed the body back up to the normal temperature and started the heart back. Plus, that might mean she doesn't need a pace maker to get the heart pumping again if it can't on it's own. Please pray that is the case!!! I am not 100% positive, but hopefully we will find some more details out soon. The good news is she is doing great and we are getting closer to the end of the procedure.

Please hang tight and I will try to get some more details soon. KEEP PRAYING!!!!

We are getting more excited because it seems things are going smooth.

Thank you and God Bless,

The Freemans :)

Her strength amazes me ! Truly a miracle ! We will keep praying for her, my 9 year old son just called me from school to get an update. He said a prayer for Kayleigh with his whole class this morning. I hope when Kayleigh is older she will realize just how many lives she has touched in such a wonderful way !

I forgot to tell my Dad her surgery is today so he wants to me to tell you that his prayers are with her as well. It sure looks like God is not ready for her yet.

I have just started reading. I have been on here all morning, just reading and crying. Crying for all the milestones that Kaleigh has made it thru. I'm sorry I'm not the best with my words. But I have my whole family praying for you. My children 9 and 10 years old have been reading right along with me. I will continue to pray as will my children. Can't wait to hear another update.
