5/13/09 - Update on Memorial

With Kayleigh's memorial coming up, preparations are being made and things are starting to come together.

Many of you asked if there were something you could do to help and we came up with an idea. On Sunday (May 17th), at 4:00PM(EST) after the memorial, we will be letting off pink balloons in Kayleigh's name. Tied to each balloon will be a card that reads:

Kayleigh Anne Freeman
Our One Pound Miracle from God
(6/23/08 - 5/11/09)
www.KayleighAnneFreeman.blogspot.com

God has used Kayleigh in many ways and just because she is in Heaven with our Lord, that doesn't mean our work is done. Let's continue to spread faith, hope and love to those who need to receive it. God will lead those balloons to the right hands.

Also, many of you asked if there is an address to send flowers and what we are doing in lieu of flowers, are donations to Levine Children's Hospital NICU at Carolina's Medical Center - 1000 Blythe Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203. In the remarks, we are all putting "From Kayleigh"

Thank you all so much for your kind comments and support through this. Aimee and I are hanging in there. We will cry, laugh and then cry some more, but we are being strong for each other no matter what. That is what is important right now. God has blessed Aimee and I so much to be upset with Him or angry at anything. Kayleigh is a special person and we can all agree that what she has done in her short life is beyond amazing. However, we do miss her so very much and it feels as if a piece of us is missing.

She may not be in my arms, but she will remain in my heart.

God Bless,

You both are so strong. The LORD has allowed you to go through a huge "bump in the road" but I believe he wouldn't have put you through something like that if HE knew you wouldn't be able to handle it. When I went through my 2 miscarraiges someone once told me that "If GOD brings you to it, HE will bring you through it." I have two sweet angels waiting for me in Heaven. You were just lucky enough to meet your angel. You are continuously in our prayers. I would love to come to her memorial celebration but my preemie just came home not long ago and we are still having to stay inside due to his size. Thank you for your strength during this time. You all are true inspirations!

We (my family and I) where talking that we would be letting balloons lose for Kayleigh. My husband thought that was such a wonderful gesture since we can't be there for her service on Sunday.

We both watched "The Dr.s" today and learned so much about health insurance that we didn't know. How incredibly touching of a show it was. I'm so glad that they donated money to your family. I hope that it helps you so much. <3 Amiee and you looked great.

What a wonderful idea to donate the live flowers to the NICU that Kayleigh blessed her time with. But I was Wondering what you will do if you are sent live plants to be re potted or planted in a flower bed. Will you keep them and plant them in rememberance of Sweet Kayleigh? They will bloom every year and remind you that her story will never die, just a thought. You are in our thoughts and prayers!! God bless your family, Thank you for hanging on so strong, you are an inspiration to many.

Just started following your blog a couple of days ago and heard of your loss. I also saw you on The Doctors today. When I heard that Kayleigh is with the Lord, I cried for your family because 8 months ago, we welcomed 2 precious preemies into this world. Hannah was 1 lb. 8 oz. and Kate was 2 lbs. 11 oz. Praise God that they are both healthy and thriving babies, but I just couldn't ever imagine losing them. I'm praying for you guys and really admire all of the sacrifices that you have made to make Kayleigh's life mean so much.

I will be releasing balloons for Kayleigh's memory. I have only been reading this blog for about three weeks now. I wish I would have known about it sooner, but since I have been an avid reader my life has changed because of your family's strenght, courage, love and faith. God is defiently working through all of you. Kayleigh is a miracle straight from God's Hands. You are the LUCKIEST family in the world to have been so blessed to have 11 wonderful months in her presence.]
Her legacy will forever live in my heart and many many other peoples hearts as well. I feel incredibly blessed that you have shared your daughter and her story will all of us. I think that she is one of the toughest little Angels I've ever heard of. She fought so hard to hang on till God called her to be one of his Angels. I know God has a very special place/job for her in Heaven. I am eternally thankful to have been blessed by reading your blog. You have restored my Faith and love in life.
Thank God for The Freeman's!!!

I watched the Doctors today and was in tears. My son was born full term with a heart defect. I heard about you through LCK info page. I am so sorry for you loss, what a trajedy, can't quit thinking of you ALL. My son was in the NICU for over 6 months and many times we were very un-optomistic. Anyway, what I want to say is if you have not tried for Medicaid, you should, you would be surprised at how willing they are to help. I know how scared I was to find out at 16 weeks that he had a serious heart defect and how would we pay for this??? Medicaid was our answer and have never received a bill for his 1.3 million dollar stay. I hope this helps because I know that was a HUGE help for us during the MOST difficult ime of our lives. My son is 4 now and delayed but well. Good luck and best wishes to your family during this difficult time.

What a beautiful idea. We will be getting 11 balloons for her 10.5mos. Since we're in San Diego, CA we will be doing it at 1pm so coincide with your 4pm. Attaching the note about Kayleigh is perfect....I sure was blessed when I stumbled upon her story and I hope so many more can too. I know I'm not gonna stop helping spread your story and about faith and love.

I think the SPIVEY's had another wonderful idea about taking pictures! I think we all need to take pics and send them to you to add to Kayleigh's baby book!

We love you guys!

We are coming to Charlotte for the service. I am looking forward to celebrating Kayleigh's life and legacy with you. I think the balloon idea is wonderful.

Your segment on "The Doctors" was wonderful. I plan on buying "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and reading it as a way of thanking the author for what he did for your family. It may be difficult to see but God is still very much working in your lives right now. Thank you for your faithfullness to Him even in these extremely painful circumstances. You both were specially chosen by God to be Kayleigh's parents. Very few people could have endured all that you have and come through still singing His praises. Well done, good and faithful servants.

As I watched you on the "Doctors" and cried on how much your family has been through this past year. I too have lost my home to foreclosure because I lost my job. I have a special needs son who is 16 years and functions at 14months. I could not find a job that was paying what I was making or have a boss that would understand if I needed to take off. So we packed up and with the help of family we were able to buy a mobile home. We have no mortgage now. So it all happened for a reason. Everything that is happening to you is the path that God is chosing for you. Thats how I get through my days. Everyday I wake up and say where are you leading me to today. I am so glad that you received montary gifts. This will be a big help to your family and will relieve some stress for you. Take some time regroup and relax you have been through so much.

I have been following kayleigh's story for a while and brought her story to my co-workers. One of my co-workers called me last night and said that her daughter Devyon asked her if she could get a card for a girl in her class that was sad. She said sure and asked her what was wrong with the little girl. As it turns out your daughter Allyson is in Devyon's class. I will be releasing 11 pink balloons on Sunday for Kayleigh and I hope mine with everyone else's reach her and she sees just how loved she truly is. God Bless you Adam and Aimee and your families. May you draw strength from all those that are here for you. I wish I lived closer so I could be there on Sunday. Dear Adam and Aimee,

I want to thank you for allowing me to be a witness to Kayleighs amazing life here. I was honored to be one of thousands in her corner, praying and cheering for her. I am certain that in her 11 months here, she brought many to know the Lord, many back to their faith, taught us how to hope and love unconditionally and hug our children and grandchildren tighter than ever before. Yesterday on the Dr.s show, she was the spokesperson for our healthcare, brought grown men to tears, and brought Jesus face to face with all who watched the show. Kayleigh is a girl on a mission, though she never left the hospital. She has taught us that no matter our circumstances, we can all be a witness for God's goodness right where we are. I am praying for you and your children as you go through this week of preparations for Kayleighs memorial and especially for the days and weeks that follow, as you gently move into a new normal in your lives. May you continue to feel Gods arms wrapped tightly around all of you always. I too am so sorry for your heartbreak in letting her go. She is so loved by so many.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

She will have her 1yr angelversary on June 7th and my prayers are that Kayleigh and Erin are up there playing and laughing together watching over us through the rough days and laughing with us on the others. God Bless You and Your Family.
