9/25/08 - Making Progress

Today, Kayleigh has been moving in the right direction, but we won't know fully if the pulmonary hypertension is going to be an on going issue until we are able to completely wean her off the nitric oxide. When they first started her on the nitric, her settings were at 20 and they dropped her to 10 and then to 5 this morning. Right now she is at 2 and they are going to continue to wean her every 3 hours. The good thing is, she has the Viagra to help as a back up. So, we are making progress and we pray that she continues to do well.

This afternoon, she was resting well and satting high. Even though she is not completely perfect right now, it is such a relief to see her satting good and sleeping. My heart just breaks when she is irritated and she is struggling to bring her sats up. We are trying to stay strong through all of this, but it is by far the hardest thing we have ever been through in our lives. I am just so blessed to have Aimee to lean on when I am having a tough time and vice versa.

I just got off the phone with the nurse and in ten minutes, they are going to wean her down to just 1 on the nitric oxide. So far so good. Let's just hope she keeps it up. Sorry as there was not much update, but not much news is very good sometimes.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. We can't begin to describe how awesome the feeling is to have all of you behind us. The comments are so encouraging to us and they keep us positive through this trying time. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!

God Bless,

The Freemans :)

YES YES YES!!!!! It is awesome to see that she is moving in the right direction, the power of prayer is at work!!!!!

Kayleigh,
You keep fighting little girl. You are amazingly strong for your little size. You can do it, God has you wrapped in his arms right now, and he always will.

Adam and Aimee,
I am still praying for strength for you guys and of course that Kayleigh will be ok.

We continue to keep you, your family, and baby Kayleigh in our constant thoughts and prayers. I pray that she is able to recover fully and that things will be back on track in no time. You and your wife are extremely strong and so is Kayleigh. Just remember you are all in God's hands and he will take care of all of you.

I cannot help but think that the whole world talking to god about Kayliegh has somthing to do with it! : ) I was happy to see her resting in the picture today and I hope that by next week we will see more pics of Kayliegh playing dress up!!! I know that this is hard for your family but god is giving you the strength to get through this and Kayliegh is touching the whole world while she grows!!! I am praying you each night and ever Sunday at church!

I just wanted to send you a message to let you know you are in our thoughts and prayers. I had 2 preemies and lost a baby at 27 weeks. I know what you are going through and it is the hardest thing in the world. My son was born at 34 weeks and was on a vent for 28 days and at one time they thought he would need the nitric oxide. We did not but he has a little NICU buddy that did and I just wanted to let you know that he is a healthy little boy today. Stay strong...I always say if God brought you to this HE will bring you through this. May God Bless you and your family.

Dear Adam and Aimee,

I will continue to say prayers for Miss Kayleigh and both of you also. I can't even imagine how you two are holding up so well, when my heart breaks when Kayleigh is feeling so irritable and struggling with her sats. She is one strong little lady. Keep strong Kayleigh, you'll be in my prayers.
