11/9/08 - 9:00 - "GOOOODMORNING"
"GOOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!! I am feeling so great this morning. They took that thing off my forehead that tells everyone how much oxygen my brain is getting. They are also taking me off more of the medicine that I have been on because I don't hurt as much and my blood pressure is much better. They clamped one of my tummy (PD) drains because it is not pulling out anymore fluid. So that means they will take that out soon if it doesn't back up. I will be so happy when all of these tubes and wires are out of me. I have some really cool news. I overheard my Daddy asking the heart surgeon what the smallest baby he had ever done open heart surgery on and the surgeon said... ME!!!! Can you believe that??? I am glad Mommy and Daddy didn't know that before I had surgery or they would have really flipped a biscuit!!! Well, I better get back to sleep before the Doc yells at me. Here's Adam...Bye - Kayleigh:)"
Aimee and I are about to go for a walk down to the park to enjoy the nice weather we are having. Thank you all for the wonderful emails that are coming in. I appreciate it so very much!!! If you haven't done one yet, look back at the "Sign + New Order + New Project" post. It is truly awesome to sit there and read everything everyone said. We are truly blessed to have every one of you!
God Bless,
The Freemans :)

Wow Kayleigh, you look great this morning :)
Hope I'm not too late, but we've been out of town and just saw the request!
Dear Kayleigh's Caretakers,
We stumbled upon Kayleigh's story while on Parents.com, a picture of her little arm in her Daddy's hand. She, along with her family, is so blessed to have each and every one of you cross her path. She has touched so many hearts and God made this possible through each of you. So, a big THANK YOU for simply doing what God had planned for you so Kayleigh can go on to do the great things He has planned for her.

I want to apologize for this extremely random comment.
I found out about Rachel's sweet little Hannah passing away through your blog and I just wanted to let you know that I am starting a candle light HOPE vigil for her and Ryan. I don't know them personally in fact I live on the opposite side of the world down in Australia but their story has really touched my heart.
If you would like to, please light a candle for them and take a photo, please know that there is no pressure whatsoever to particpate, I just want this family to know that there are people thinking and praying for them all over the world. If you would like to do this you can email me the photo along with your first name and what part of the world you are from. My email address is twenty_six_stars@hotmail.com
Thank you for taking the time to read this and may God bless you and your family.

What a gorgeous little miracle you have :)
That picture brings tears to my eyes! Adam you should write a book about your experience, you have a real talent for putting words onto paper. I would love to read it and I think you could help so many other parents to know that through prayer, hope, strength and a very tiny miracle we are all capable of anything ! Thank-you for sharing Kayleigh's story with me.

Hey there little cutie Kayleigh! You've made soooo many people around the world proud with how well you've done with this surgery! Those VSD's are nasty things to have. But now you're all better and ready to go home with mommy and daddy & play with your sister and brother! What a wonderful life you are going to have!.

I was forwarded Kayleigh's blog a couple days ago by a family member. I just wanted you to know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I have twin girls that are now 17 months old. They were born at 28 weeks. Lily spent 2 months in the NICU at CMC main and Isabel 3 months. Reading Kayleigh's story brings back a lot of memories and emotions. My heart goes out to you during this time. I'm so glad to hear how well Kayleigh is doing now, post-surgery.
Luckily, our daughter Lily had an "easy" trip in the NICU, but Isabel had quite a journey. The way Kayleigh is fighting reminds me of how Isabel fought and persevered. They told us Isabel wouldn't make it through her first day in the NICU, but she did and she continued on through constant opstacles, including 2 brain surgeries, several life-changing diagnoses, etc. and here she is today - crawling like a big girl (when they thought she never would) and working her way toward walking, which now they all think she will be able to do!!
I think it will continue to amaze you how much Kayleigh can fight and overcome even when she is so tiny and faced with so many challenges.
I always said Isabel and Lily went through more in their first few months of life than most adults ever have to go through, and through it all they were such an inspiration, and so is Kayleigh. Our girls have taught my fiance and I not to take life for granted; to celebrate all of the small things. From reading your blog I can see Kayleigh taught you and your wife the same thing! :)
Kayleigh couldn't be in a better hospital or in better hands. They have the most amazing and supportive doctors, nurses, and specialists at CMC main!!
Take care and know that our family is rooting for you all and can't wait to read about Kayleigh getting to go home!!
Kayleigh, I check on you every day, and I must say that today you are looking fabulous! What a pretty, strong girl you are!
Becky from Washington state
I just love your beautiful big brown eyes! What a cutie you are! Have a great day today!
I'm so happy to see Kayleigh doing well! I've missed reading your blog several days this week because I've been in the hospital on bed rest, but you've been in my prayers. I woke up early (4:30 am here) on the day of Kayleigh's surgery to pray. Amazing to see what God is doing in her life!
Please keep praying for our baby, Zephaniah. On Friday night, my water broke. I was already in the hospital on bed rest trying to stop preterm labor. I'm about 30 weeks pregnant. Now we're just waiting for labor to start and hoping baby gets as long as he can have in my belly.
What a beautiful, bright-eyed little girl! She looks soooo alert! I love the picture of her!
Love,
Rhonda and baby Luke
OH! this precious picture took my breath away, You are so beautiful an full of life you look so happy and peacefull
Bless your little heart
Aimee and Adam,
What a beautiful sight to see! She looks great! It's so wonderful to see Miss Kayleigh looking like her little "Miss Priss" self again, I can't wait for her to get back to NPCN so I can spoil her a little bit! But really, I am so thankful everything has gone so well, the power of prayer works wonders, doesn't it? You guys have been thru you know what and back and have come out stronger, all because of your little miracle girl. I hope you get to be transferred to NICU soon, and then you guys can come on over to see us!
Take care,
Paula L. (NPCN)

She looks soooooo good! Oh, I sure hope it's all uphill from here! It's so overdue! Congrats, guys - it must be so awesome to see her looking and doing so well so shortly after this surgery! Yay!!!
I am so happy to see that she is doing so well. I also want to thank you for posting this blog. Our little girl Addisyn was born on October 7 at 28 weeks and your blog has helped tremendously.
