12/19/08 - WHAT A DAY!!!

This has got to be one of the best days in our lives!!!

First of all, we want to take the time thank every single person for the support you have given our family. A weight has certainly started to lift off our shoulders and we are so blessed to have such an amazing support system help us through these difficult times. Aimee and I have already promised each other that no matter what and how, we will pass it forward for the rest of our lives.

Kayleigh is just a sweet miracle from God!!! But, I am sure you all knew that already. How about this!!! She is currently on vent, but her oxygen is set at 75% and still weaning. Her blood gasses look great!!! Her urine output is great!!! She has not had a single desat all day long!!! She has tolerated her Chest PT, her suctions, and any kind of touch and she is not nearly on the same high dose of her paralytic either!!!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST!!! Kayleigh's oxygen exchange is more than above normal, even with more than 70% of her right lung being closed, more than 30% of her left lung being closed and having high lung pressures to top it off. Our doctor, the one who was giving chest compressions to Kayleigh the other morning to save her precious life and the doctor who was preparing us for one last desat that would cause Kayleigh to spiral out of control to her death, said this morning, "I'M SHOCKED." Can you believe that????? This is a true miracle and blessing from God! There is no way anyone can argue that God is in control here and He is the one who laid His hands on Kayleigh and healed her.

We still need many many prayers as she is no where near being out of the woods yet, but she is in a much more stable position right now! It is a humbling experience to sit at your child's bedside and say it is okay to go to heaven, and that her life has been more than a blessing to thousands of people. But, it is also such a rejoicing moment to see it all turn around in a blink of an eye and have the greatest gift of all, your daughter's life back. God must have seen how precious Kayleigh is to so many people and decided that she could do so much more if she'd stay much longer. We agree!

Please continue to pray and hope for more wonderful updates to come. Pray over all the doctors and nurses to continue doing an amazing job for Kayleigh. They may not have the right answers 100% the time, but they know a whole lot more than all of us and God has given them those precious gifts to do His work down here. Praise God and we give Him ALL the glory!!!

Thank you again for all those who are helping us through donations! To those who ordered Kayleigh bracelets, please be patient because we have to order more and the company can be slow at times. For those who have your bracelets, please email me your photos so we can add them to Kayleigh's scrap book that Aimee is making. (Adam@TeamFreemanProperties.com)
Some people asked if we have an address and we are going to get a PO Box and post that shortly. I like the idea of everyone emailing Oprah and Ellen. How cool would that be to touch the lives of millions???? God would be so proud!!!

One more thing, an awesome follower topped our night off with a well needed smile. Actually, Aimee and I nearly rolled on the floor laughing so hard we were crying when we watched this video. Please join us in our Freeman Family Christmas Disco (CLICK HERE).

I hope you laugh till your cheeks hurt, because a smile is worth more than a million dollars.

God Bless,

The Freemans :)

I am so glad for this latest blog! If this doesn't prove the power of prayer, I don't know what would!!! Can you believe the difference from the heartbreaking blog you posted just a few nights ago to this wonderful news you posted today? Our God surely is an awesome God! I pray that the news gets better everyday...I am from the Sept 2008 board on BBC and I remember when Aimee first posted that the doctors were giving her bad news and she wasn't sure what to make of it all....and now here we are more than 6 months later with a precious little fighter! She is a true miracle, God Bless her!

Thank Heavens!!! It is 1:30 am and as I wake to feed my baby, I just HAD to check in on another sweet babe!!! Thank you for the incredible update!!!

PRAISE to GOD first, as HE is working the miracles! Isn't HE just amazing? And then we need to praise the doctors and nurses as Adam mentioned, as they as helping to carry out HIS miracles! MOMMY and DADDY must be filled with so much joy, as we all are!

That PO box will be filling up fast with all of Kayleigh's friends sending their blessings! You should get extra keys and have your family help you as I'm sure you'll need to empty it each day!

Again, thank you to the both of you for sharing your amazing journey. It takes alot, I'm sure, to allow others in on your heartbreaks. I know the joyous moments are so easy to share. As you have witnessed, we are all behind Kayleigh, on good and bad days.

Keep up the miracles LORD!!!

Hi Adam and Aimee, I wrote to you in a comment the other day saying that I knew what it felt like to think you are losing a child. Within SECONDS of pressing send on your comments, our daughter Veiyah had to have chest compressions. Her heart rate dropped to 30bpm. We are so with you right now. We had another huge scare that day and now, along with your Kayleigh, is proving herself again....an amazing miracle from God. Please follow us!! I'd like to keep up with you guys and exchange prayers. We've been here for 3 months now, lost 1 daughter and her sister continues to fight for her life everyday. Thank Jesus!! I think about you all often. Before everything happened, I told my daughter why I was writing to you. She said "Not THAT Kayleigh, Mom!" "Are you sure it's not another baby named Kayleigh?" She said this as tears filled her eyes. We've been following your story and she knows the pain of loss for her sister, Aderah. Amazing the impact is can have on our kids...not in a bad way, but to empathize with others.

Would love to have you follow us, as we are following you. From one heart baby to another~

I rolled out of bed first thing this morning to check your website--thank you so much for the update! I also refreshed your website 100 times yesterday, fretting. I should have had more faith that the news would be good, but I would never have expected the news to be SO wonderful! Kayleigh has proven once again that she is a truly a miracle sent by God! I am typing with tears rolling down my cheeks, because I am so relieved!

I will continue to pray for Kayleigh and for your family. I am going out of town for a family event today, but I plan to log onto my computer tomorrow and e-mail Oprah and Ellen with your amazing story. And when it airs on either show, you better bet I will be watching it! I can't wait for my husband to wake up so I can give him your latest update!

We donated $30, for Kayleigh's college fund. Kansas University in Lawrence is a great school, with an awesome men's basketball team! Rock Chalk Jayhawk! :)

I'm rooting Kayleigh on today, that she continues to improve! Go Kayleigh!

I am so happy to see she is improving. I thought about you guys all night long and prayed for Kayleigh's life. I prayed that she pull through and her Mommy and Daddy know all the joys of raising a perfect little girl. I still pray for that.

"Dear God. Please watch over Kayleigh and her family and keep her safe. Please give her the strength to pull through all this and grow to see all the beauty of life. Please give her Mommy and Daddy strength in this most difficult time. Help them to keep their continued faith in you and all your greatness."

Dear Freeman Family,

Our family went through the NICU rollercoaster 11 years ago. Our daughter, Sienna was born at 26 weeks, 682 grams (1 lb. 8 oz) dropping to 1 lb. 3 oz. She was in the NICU 92 days, a relative short time compared to your precious Kayleigh. I am praying for her full recovery and release. I have forwarded your blog to all of my friends and family. God bless you all. You can visit Sienna's page (which has not been updated in years - she is now 11 1/2) but tells about her start. http://www.geocities.com/enchantedforest/cottage/2846/

I have added your button to my blog so others can keep you in their prayers as well. My 1 and a half year old son loves when I click on your site. Ok guys so Cathy wrote for those of you who aren't still following the giving post that if 250 of us could afford just 25.00 per month that would give the Freeman's $6250.00 per month and that could keep them from loosing their house and car, so what do you say, who is up to the challenge? I am setting up a reminder on my calendar and I promise $50.00 per month for as long as the Freeman family needs it so they can stay with Kayleigh durring the day and get her better rather then going out to find full time office jobs to keep paying their bills.

Katie Anderson said...

Heavenly Father I ask you to bless the gifts which are given to the Freeman family, so that they would be able to be put to use so that their family will not be without transportation or a home. We know that all things are possible through you and we just pray that you would use us as your tools to help this family. Be with them durring this rough time and help them to know your love, feel your love and to continue to see you work Miracles in the life of Kayleigh. We all love her as our own, and are not ready for her to go yet Lord. If it is Your will please heal her and use her testamony to reach other for You.

In Jesus Name Amen.

CATHY----What a wonderful idea. I know many CAN and WILL follow your lead. I know MANY would love to, but CANT afford it. For those that CANT afford it, your PRAYERS are 100% FREE and PRICELESS!!!! KEEP THEM COMING!!!! The Freemans need PRAYERS first, then financial help!

I need to pay back the MANY blessings I have received from the good LORD. I am blessed to be able to pay it back financially to another family in need.

Dear Lord,

I am choosing to thank you for your blessings that your have given my family by blessing the Freeman family with my initial pledge of $125. Starting Jan 1 2009, I will offer $30 per month for one full year to the Freeman family. They are to use this money any way they see fit and any way they need to use it.
Lord, thank you for my good health, job and family. Thank you for making me a Mom to a living child this CHRISTmas! I am loving my daughter to the fullest! These past 3 months have been my happiest. I know that my first born child is safely in your arms. I miss him terribly and all of those firsts that I will never get. Please allow Adam and Aimee to see those firsts with KAYLEIGH!!
Thank you for blessing my family financially so that I am able to pass on my offering to this WONDERFUL family. Thank you for the enormous blessing you gave my husband this past September. He gave himself to the USMC and now at 28, is completely disabled. Thank you for answering our prayers and providing for our family! Thank you for giving me the strength to work full time, take my baby to work, and take care of my husband. I am so honored that you chose me for this job!
Thank you LORD for blessing Kayleigh for the past 5 months and 3 weeks! Please continue to do so and help her grow!

In your name.

Katie - and everyone else -

I'm no different than any of you. This is the first year in my 33 years on earth that I've been blessed to the point to not have to worry about money. God has blessed our new business and our family and our health this past year. He's led us to find and purchase our dream home -

One year ago - we has just a few hundred dollars in our bank account. We lived paycheck to paycheck -

8 years ago, I too sat in the NICU for months and months - and had such an amazing outcome with my daughter.

I'm giving to them what I can afford - which is what all of you have done. I'm NO different. AND - TO BE HONEST... I had a blast doing it.

I watched the show "Secret Millionaire" last week - and told Brandt that THAT is my new goal in life... to be able to help people like they do.

Whats "interesting" is that if 250 people gave $25 a month - that is just over $6,000 a month. Which is VERY much an amount a family of 5 could live on. Something to think about.. imagine if 250 people did that once a month for the next 6 months... this family would have nothing financially to worry about!!!

At the end of this story, it gives you two options I think you will figure out what option I chose.

The smell of rain

A cold March wind danced around the dead of night in Dallas as the doctor walked into the small hospital room of Diana Blessing. She was still groggy from surgery.

Her husband, David, held her hand as they braced themselves for the latest news.
That afternoon of March 10, 1991, complications had forced Diana, only 24-weeks pregnant, to undergo an emergency Cesarean to deliver couple's new daughter, Dana Lu Blessing.

At 12 inches long and weighing only one pound nine ounces, they already knew she was perilously premature.

Still, the doctor's soft words dropped like bombs.

"I don't think she's going to make it," he said, as kindly as he could.

"There's only a 10-percent chance she will live through the night, and even then, if by some slim chance she does make it, her future could be a very cruel one"

Numb with disbelief, David and Diana listened as the doctor described the devastating problems Dana would likely face if she survived.

She would never walk, she would never talk, she would probably be blind, and she would certainly be prone to other catastrophic conditions from cerebral palsy to complete mental retardation, and on and on.

"No! No!" was all Diana could say.

She and David, with their 5-year-old son Dustin, had long dreamed of the day they would have a daughter to become a family of four.

Now, within a matter of hours, that dream was slipping away

But as those first days passed, a new agony set in for David and Diana. Because Dana's underdeveloped nervous system was essentially 'raw', the lightest kiss or caress only intensified her discomfort, so they couldn't even cradle their tiny baby girl against their chests to offer the strength of their love.

All they could do, as Dana struggled alone beneath the ultraviolet light in the tangle of tubes and wires, was to pray that God would stay close to their precious little girl.

There was never a moment when Dana suddenly grew stronger.

But as the weeks went by, she did slowly gain an ounce of weight here and an ounce of strength there.

At last, when Dana turned two months old. her parents were able to hold her in their arms for the very first time.

And two months later, though doctors continued to gently but grimly warn that her chances of surviving, much less living any kind of normal life, were next to zero, Dana went home from the hospital, just as her mother had predicted.

Five years later, when Dana was a petite but feisty young girl with glittering gray eyes and an unquenchable zest for life.

She showed no signs whatsoever of any mental or physical impairment. Simply, she was everything a little girl can be and more. But that happy ending is far from the end of her story.

One blistering afternoon in the summer of 1996 near her home in Irving , Texas , Dana was sitting in her mother's lap in the bleachers of a local ball park where her brother Dustin's baseball team was practicing.

As always, Dana was chattering nonstop with her mother and several other adults sitting nearby, when she suddenly fell silent . Hugging her arms across her chest, little Dana asked, "Do you smell that?"

Smelling the air and detecting the approach of a thunderstorm, Diana replied, "Yes, it smells like rain."

Dana closed her eyes and again asked, "Do you smell that?"

Once again, her mother replied, "Yes, I think we're about to get wet. It smells like rain."

Still caught in the moment, Dana shook her head, patted her thin shoulders with her small hands and loudly announced,
"No, it smells like Him.

It smells like God when you lay your head on His chest."

Tears blurred Diana's eyes as Dana happily hopped down to play with the other children.

Before the rains came, her daughter's words confirmed what Diana and all the members of the extended Blessing family had known, at least in their hearts, all along.

During those long days and nights of her first two months of her life, when her nerves were too sensitive for them to touch her, God was holding Dana on His chest and it is His loving scent that she remembers so well.

You now have 1 of 2 choices. You can either pass this on and let other people catch the chills like you did or you can delete this and act like it didn't touch your heart like it did mine.

IT'S YOUR CALL!

"I can do all things in Him who strengthens me."

This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, He saw me, and He asked: "My child, what is your greatest wish for today?" I responded:
"Lord please, take care of the person who is reading this message, their family and their special friends. They deserve it and I love them very much" The love of God is like the ocean, you can see its beginning, but not its end.

Fresh, warm, salty tears of joy are running down my cheeks! PRAISE OUR HEAVENLY FATHER!!! THANK YOU LORD! I am so excited to see that little Kayleigh is still fighting, and even more excited to see the way that the name of our Lord is being GLORIFIED and EXALTED through her little life! I was directed to your blog 2 days ago through a friend in a group on Cafemom and I have checked in frequently and prayed often. The most wonderful thing I have seen is the DIFFERENCE in your posts from the beginning until now. I went back to the beginning...and while you asked for prayers, not much else was said about God. The more up to date I read, the more the pages are filled with PRAISE to HIM...and not just on wonderful days when miracles are happening, but even on the hardest days! I am SO thankful to see THE MIGHTY ONE use this situation to pull you close to Him!

The Church is praying. Jesus is listening. No matter what the outcome, we know that HE is being glorified and HIS NAME is being proclaimed to MANY people though the precious life of your tiny little miracle.

Thank you for the updates! I am praying for you : )

Love from your sister in the Lord...Dani

Love, hugs and many prayers for Team Freeman!! Keep fighting Kayleigh!! You're awesome baby girl!

Praise Him for our weak times, and doubts so that He can show us how strong He can be.

I was reading and praying for you all and came across this verse, and it struck me and I knew I had to share

God's word says in II Corinthians 12:9-10 that "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. "

I'm praying for more rest and strength!

I was hoping for an update before turning in for the night and have checked 3 times in the last hour...its too bad the Freeman's dont have a designated blogger to fill us in between their posts...wouldn't that be cool

Maybe we just need to raise more funds so that Adam and Aimee don't have to worry about work and can concentrate on parenting and blogging full time ha ha

Thank God that He is bigger than medicine! Even though I've never met you guys, I feel like I know you. Your joy is my joy and your pain is my pain. Kayleigh is such a miracle - she never seizes to amaze and bless me. I know it's been so difficult for you guys these last several months, and I just want you to know that YOU have been a blessing to me too. Your strength is amazing - I guess that's where Kayleigh gets it from. My prayers are, of course, still with you, and I have been telling Kayleigh's story to everyone I can and they're praying for her too. The power of prayer is awesome. God bless you guys!
