Your Amazing!!

Imagine you are walking by yourself through the fields of a horse pasture that is over 200 acres in size. It is a cool and breezy day, but spring is in the air and the warm weather is peaking through just around the corner. You find yourself in a peaceful state as you soak in all the beauty around you. As you climb and descend the rolling hills of the Fredon, NJ country side, your attention is distracted by a ribbon that is gracefully blowing in the wind. As you change course and approach this dancing ribbon, you notice half of it is buried deep in the muddy terrain. Grasping tightly, but gently pulling it out of the undisturbed earth only to find a beautifully handwritten note attached to the other end.

On May 11, 2009, Kayleigh Anne Freeman went home to Heaven and nearly a year has gone by since balloons, with beautifully written notes were set free on May 17th, 2009 to roam this world in hopes to touch more lives the same way Kayleigh had touched all of ours.

I received an email early this evening from Kathy whose life was touched by Kayleigh as she walked through this beautiful pasture today and pulled a buried "You've Been Touched by Kayleigh" note out of the mud. It showed signs of wear and tear as Kathy described this firmly attached note to the end of this ribbon, which was once carried to its destination by a beautiful pink balloon. I nearly broke in to tears when this email came through. I was enjoying my gracious invite for dinner over at Andy's (The American Hero) house for dinner and a little Guitar Hero with his wife, sister and children. I happily shared this blessing of a story with them as goose bumps covered my whole body. I was so excited and anxious to come home and share such awesome news with you all.

"Kayleigh, you continue to amaze us everyday with your strength and love. There is not a day that goes by where I am not reminded of the love you shared with all of us. I am forever changed by your miraculous journey. Just when I think I have been amazed beyond all measure, you prove once and again why, "Your Amazing" by Janelle is the song that describes you perfectly. I am comforted daily by your photos, your first teeny weeny outfit, your stuffed animal puppy (Brittany), and the stories that continue to come in of how you touched and blessed their lives. Every time I'm shown how much of a blessing you have been and will continue to be, I quickly smile and am reminded of how very proud I am of you!

Kayleigh, you will forever live in my heart. By seeing how you have changed this world, without speaking a word, it just amplifies the fact of knowing that your really not that far away. As the warm weather is approaching, I am sure we will all see your love through the joyful dancing of a beautiful butterfly.

We ALL love you so much sweet Kayleigh"

God Bless,

I miss her face...maybe you can put a picture of her beautiful face on your blog to always look at. When I think of her the first thing I want to do is run to your blog and see her face..... do you have a picture to keep up on your blog? I'd love to see it.

Beautiful touching post.

HOw beautiful. I started crying reading that! Hard to believe we are approaching nearly a year since she left for home. Her photo is still stuck in my bible, she helped guide me back. I won't ever forget that.

Beautiful! You know, as soon as this page loaded and the music started playing I instantly got tears in my eyes! I guess hearing those songs brought back all those raw emotions I felt while reading your posts throughout Kayleigh's precious life. I am forever changed by your sweet angel-baby! Thank you again for sharing!

You're so amazing! This BEAUTY you are!! Tears are in my eyes now, too! I often wonder if the ballons i sent ever reached anyone. I was tempted to put my own e-mail address on the cards to ask anyone if they would tell me they found them, but I felt that that would detract anyone from the point of learning about our wonderful miracle when they saw the cards. I found comfort in seeing my balloons head south towards Cincinnatti because everything is heavily populated to the south of me all the way from Dayton to Lexington, KY! I truly hope someone found my balloons!! Hey! Maybe we could do an anniversary re-release at another specified time!!!

I think about Kayleigh everyday. She was 20 days younger than my son who was also born premature. I looked forward to every morning b/c it's when I would read Kayleigh's blog. Reading her story always made my day. I fell in love with her during that time. I was thinking about her the other day & I realized that it has been almost a year since she left us & yet she never ceases to amaze us all. Kayleigh I miss you so much sweet girl.

I too released balloons for Kayleigh and continue to be touched in little ways. I was having a not so good moment on Friday while driving and saw a beautiful butterfly. I immidiately thought of Kayleigh. Life was brought into perspective once again. Life is precious, fragile, and ever changing. Cling to the ones you love and remember those who matter most! with LOVE

I'm in tears. Hard to believe it has been almost a year since Kayleigh went to Heaven.

How beautiful that people are still being touched by the miracle that she was.

I cannot believe it's been nearly a year. God Bless you guys. I don't really 'know' you, but your story of Kayleigh touched me in such a profound way. I followed your family each day. Kayleigh brought me closer to God when I was in a very dark place... Thank you! God Bless!

Do you know where the balloon was released from? We released several and made sure to put our location on them as well so if they were ever found we would know how far they traveled.
How many have been found total? Just curious :)
Reading this post gave me goosebumps... I think of Kayleigh daily... I miss her, I miss reading daily about her... I agree with the previous post about putting up a picture of her!! Please!!!
