My Kayleigh Tattoo

Now I have a piece of Kayleigh etched in to my skin forever. I always knew this is what I wanted, but finally found an artist out here in Wilmington (Robbie Kass) who does a really good job compared to the guys I trusted out in Charlotte.

Anyhow, I thought I would share my new piece of artwork with you all. Believe it or not, it only took 25 minutes but it hurt more than the whole 16 hours (2 - 8hr sessions) that is took to do my arm sleeve tattoo. Go figure!

I would love to hear some stories of your artwork. Do you have a tattoo? What is the meaning behind yours?

God Bless,

I'm still trying to figure out the exact placement of the tat, but it is beautiful.

I do not have any, but I really want to put my lil man's foot print with angel wings and some stars around it to represent my other 3 kids. I need to find an artist who can sketch it out just right for me.

I LOVE IT! yes I got a memorial tattoo for my daughter as well. Its her name and birthdate/death date and a little pink birdie that was on the diaper bag that I bought for her. I waited and waited to get that tattoo to make sure it was what I really wanted and it was. I found such peace and comfort after I got it. Im so glad I have a piece of her in my skin forever. I have her physically with me (in the best way I can) everyday.

After my son was born a preemie and we all endured the NICU roller coaster. I got a tattoo on my right foot. It's a leaf symbolizing a new season in my life with the strength symbol inside representing the strength my son showed me in the first days of his life. It's also on my right foot because due to my condition my son was only carried on the right side of my uterus.

I got a tattoo on my lower back of a butterfly and in its wings are baby feet. I lost a pregnancy and got it for that then to follow I lost 3 more so 4 total. Now I finally have a son and I want to get his name on me somewhere just havent decided where. My husband got his baby feet prints on the back of his calf. Your tattoo looks way good.

I love your sleeve - it looks great! And your tattoo with Kayleigh's name is just beautiful. I have a heart on the inside of my left wrist for a our first baby that we lost to a miscarriage. I have a small fleur-di-lis on my right foot (got in Sept '03) --- that tattoo has so much more meaning because we lived in New Orleans at the time of Katrina. Tattoos with meanings are wonderful!

I have a tatto of my son's initial surrounded by a heart on my lower back. I am also getting a new tatto this summer on my foot of two butterflies. My father is very sick and has been for about 7-8 years. He lives in a nursing home and is deteriorating to the point where he is very lathargeic. My father and I danced at my high school and college graduation and my wedding to Butterfly Kisses, so that is where the two butterflies are going to represent.
I love the tattoo and I have always been a fan of tattoos that have a meaning behind them and not just a drunken night out.

Okay.... if I share my tattoo story, you have to take a look at it on my blog! lol

I got a tattoo of a sunshine on my right shoulder blade when I was seventeen. I had all the colors that were my favorite, put throughout the tattoo......

Then, I had a little boy named Isaiah who passed away on August 3, 2008. I put a lot of thought into getting another tattoo in honor of his life. The rainbow is very significant to me, so I had a rainbow coming out from behind the sun, with Isaiah's name and birth/death date engraved forever on my back.

(The tattoo artist went back over the sunshine, so that it wouldn't be to dull looking next to the fresh one. It hurt horribly too!)....youch lol

He has forever changed my life, and helped me turn into a more compassionate person.

If you do check it out, you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page. It's by my playlist.

In Christ,
Jennifer Ross

I got so caught up in my own tattoo story, I completely forgot to tell you how nice yours is.(Sorry) The artist did an awesome job! Kayleigh is a beautiful little girl. Her story has really touched my heart. She truly was, "one of God's smallest, yet biggest miracles."

Ryan has a whole back piece in memory of Carly and Hannah. It goes from shoulder to shoulder and is about 1/4-1/2 way down his back. It's not finished yet. There are 2 angels each holding a banner with one of the girls name on it. There is a cross, compass, 2 stars, a sun and a moon, and "me" and "Ryan" so to speak in an art type of mannar. It's neat. It is gonna be AWESOME when it's finished. I can email you a pic of it. not sure if you can post pics in comment sections or not.

i got "Great is Thy Faithfulness" on my back about 3 years ago. We tried for 2 1/2 years to concieve our daughter, which we finally did with the help of fertility drugs. and so after 1 1/2 years of trying for a 2nd - i decided that if i put those words on my body - i could never deny it no matter how hard i tried to. We are now on 4 1/2 years of trying for a 2nd child and those words are an amazing reminder that even though life doesn't look like we thought it would - He HAS remained faithful and we have so much to look forward too.

i lost my son, max, at 21 weeks due to pre-e/hellp...

none of the "memorial" tattoos really fit my style. i decided to get his footprints, one on each leg, as though i was bouncing him on my knees.

Love it!! I'm too much of a chicken to get inked. LOL! Funny too since I have had so many piercings (eye brow, nose, lip, navel, & an industrial). The only one I actually still have is my lip ring. I would love to get Ethan's little foot print tatted on my lower back. Like I said I'm just too chicken.

Love it! I love to see peoples tattoos that have meaning to them. There's nothing worse than tattoos off the wall in my opinion... It's a really lovely tattoo! Now you'll always have her by your side.

I have a tattoo in the same place, but on the other side. The ribs is the sorest place, isn't it! : ) I think mine took 5-6 hours, but I enjoyed the pain kind of, some kind of right of passage thing maybe.

My tattoo is of 5 frangipani flowers on an abstract sort of vine design of twisting lines. I drew it myself, the tattoo artist changed some things up to make it right, and I LOVE it, had it for 18 months.
Frangipani flowers (or plumerias) have 5 petals, and represent the 5 qualities necessary for psychological perfection: sincerity, faith, aspiration, devotion and surrender. Five petal flowers also represent the 5 stages of womanhood: birth, menstruation, motherhood, menopause and death. It was perfect for me. I was raped over 4 years ago now and I got the tattoo as a way of making my body my own again. Silly as that may sound, it was right for me. I would love to show you a pic, but I don't like to publish it anywhere on the net (I designed it so I selfishly don't want anyone to copy it lol)
For my next tattoo I want to have 'When you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.' on my foot/feet in some kind of script. Can't decide on the font though. What did you use? It looks really great. Enjoy your new tattoo! : )

(I love any excuse to talk about my tattoo lol can you tell?)

I happen to have 4. The first ever, a celtic cross, for my half irish roots. The 2nd, stars on my hip, have loved stars since early on. The 3rd is the word breathe on my left wrist, to remember not to stress & take a deep breath & the 4th is an iris & a rose intertwined, for both my grandmothers, each named iris & rose. One of whom passed 4 weeks ago. Yours for kayleigh is beautiful :) & yes the pain differs from spot to spot!!

I love your new tattoo!! I do have a tattoo well actually I have two. I am soon going to be getting a third and the two I have mean a lot to me and the third will also. My first tattoo I got for my son. It is his footprints from when he was only one month old with his name above and his birthday below. I have his feet over my heart because no matter what he will always be in my heart. My son was born 2 months preemie due to Preeclampsia and HELLP Syndrome and I felt I needed to do something for him for what we both went through especially seeing I probably won't have anymore children due to my high risk of getting the same complications again and there being a high risk of either baby or both not making it if I ever do have more children. So that is my first tattoo. The second I have is of a butterfly on my left ankle in memory of my aunt who passed of breast cancer and the third I am going to get is going to be of a celtic cross in the middle of my shoulder blades in memory of my grandfather who passed of brain cancer. I think it so beautiful you did that for you daughter also. Well God bless and the artwork is awesome!!

I have 8 tats...
I am a survivor of domestic abuse from my first marriage. When I finally left him, 1 of my dearest friends took me and I got a tattoo of a dragonfly turning into a butterfly on my lower back to represent how ugly he made me feel and how beautiful I really am in my heart.
The next 3 are my kids names: Chloe, Noah, and Eli. They are wrapped around my left wrist. Each name has a star with it.
Then the next 3 are mine and my siblings nicknames that our Pop gave us when we were little: Boo Boo, Toot Toot, and Tadpole, wrapped around my right wrist.
The last one is 2 shamrocks on my left foot...I love my Irish ancestry and my BFF, Sheree, went and got a matching tattoo on her left foot...we need all the luck we can get!

I have an anklet on my left ankle. It has my kids names in Japanese (we have great friends from there) and then inbetween each name, I have 5 little white daisies. They are done in white to represent innocent and the 5 Daisies represent the 5 babies we lost before we had our son.

God Bless You and your family!

Love the new tattoo! The font is beautiful.
I too have a memorial tat for my precious Brayden who went to be with Jesus in June of 2008. I have a dragonfly on my ankle with his name written about it and Phil 1:3 under it. That is our verse for him, "I thank my God every ime I remember you." I also recently got monogram ofhis initials on my wrist. I love that the new one is right in my face and I see it all the time.
To read more about the meaning of my tattoo check out my blog at www.braydenzieg.com and search memorial tattoo.
Blessings!

I have a few, but I just recently had some work added to the piece I currently have on my back (which makes all of the others look bad in comparison! So faded) Any way, there are some hawaiian flowers around 2 beautiful butterflies that represent my 2 girls, along with a little butterfly with a halo to represent the little one I lost a couple months back.
