10/3/08 - Very Peaceful!!!!

Today was a wonderful and very peaceful day. We spent several hours with Kayleigh today and she was a pure joy. She was awake for most of the time and she fed perfect. I fed her 22 mls today within 25 minutes and she didn't have a problem at all. I don't know what it is about the NICU, whether it is the oxygen flowing through the room, but I get so darn tired. I usually can never fall asleep sitting up in a chair, but I was out cold today while Aimee spent some great quality time with Kayleigh. I don't know why, but I only get that way when I am in that NICU room.

Other than feeding well and having great bonding time, she had another wonderful day. Sorry for the short post tonight, but I finished touching up Kayleigh's room and I painted the letters that will go up on the wall. So now Aimee and I are going to go hang the letters on the wall. Brandon, my Dad, and I are going to cut, hang up and paint the chair rail to finish the project tomorrow. Aimee, my Mom and Allyson are going to the fabric store to pick out some curtains for all the kid's rooms.

We have to finish the letters and get a good night's sleep tonight as Aimee, my parents and I are going to walk the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk tomorrow morning. We have done it almost every year and it has been such an inspiring and emotional event.

God Bless Everyone!

Hi there,

Just wanted to pass along that our family will be praying for you. My daughter is also named Kayleigh! She is six and was so excited to see another beautiful girl with her name!

God bless.

Glad to hear Kayleigh had a good day. I'm not sure how I found your blog, but I'm a mom to twin boys born 10wks early. It's something about the NICU because my husband would fall asleep all the time in there and I would always get so very tired espicially when I held the boys.

Hi this is my 1st comment on your site. 1st of all I wanted to say that I am so glad to hear the good news so far with breastmilk and Kayleigh overall.
I had to chuckle when I read that she had 22 mls in 25 minutes today. Why you ask? Well because with both my kids they took FOREVER to feed and when you think about those late night feedings and 25 minutes(hours)
..Oh my, lol! Anyways not to get you to start thinking about it or anything...just,lol!!
Can't wait to hear more great news and see the beautiful nursery!

Good Lord...is that a double chin starting on this little sweetie? She gets more beautiful everyday. So glad there is peace for you guys, and you deserve a good nap here and there! We continue to pray for these peaceful growing days. Love the nursery! Look forward to seeing pictures of dear Kayleigh in her own nursery at HOME!
