12/28/08 - Set in Stone!!!

Since Kayleigh weighed in at 6.4 pounds yesterday, one of Kayleigh's friends mentioned doing a comparison with her (Webkin) bestfriend, "Brittany." To learn more about who Brittany is and how she is such a special friend to Kayleigh, go back to the post on 7/5/08. As you can tell, Kayleigh is much bigger now. Hopefully it won't take her six more months to grow six more pounds. Let's pray for weight gain!!! (When are you going to pray for weight gain ever again??Ha-Ha!)

The jg-tube procedure for tomorrow is set in stone! That is if Kayleigh continues to stay at the same prognosis as she was tonight. Aimee and I are to be there a couple hours before so we can walk her down to the operating room. She will be under sedation and possibly paralyzed before she goes down so we do not risk the chance of her having a hypertensive episode. Making sure she was as relaxed as possible was our biggest concern about this whole procedure, but after mentioning it to everyone we come in contact, I am pretty sure we are all on the same page now. Kayleigh will also be under anesthesia. The doctor is going to insert a tube through her stomach and into the small intestines. This will allow them to feed Kayleigh directly to the source without the stomach having a chance to reflux and give off micro aspirations, which are tearing up the lung tissue and not helping her progress with this pulmonary hypertension.

Even though this procedure is considered a small procedure, we all know how Kayleigh acts. The cardiac cath procedure was suppose to be small too, but it nearly took her life and it took her a week to recover from it. She still has a discolored blemish on her right shin because of the artery that was damaged, causing her whole leg to turn a nasty shade of purple. Kayleigh does things backwards when it comes to everything and she doesn't do anything by the book. She handled the open heart surgery perfect, but nearly dies when she has a urinary tract infection. Hopefully tomorrow we can break the bad streak and come out of this procedure with flying colors.

Again, the procedure is at 12:00 noon (EST), so please say your prayers as we are all well aware that our answered prayers are what got Kayleigh to this point so far. Thank you so very much!

God Bless,

The Freemans :)

So excited to see the picture of her with Brittany! :) Thanks for sharing. It's amazing just how much she's grown. Hard to see it as much when you follow her day-to-day.

I will be saying a prayer tomorrow at noon for Kayleigh that her procedure will go smoothly and she will breeze right on through it.

Blessings,

Wow... she sure has grown it is hard to see that when you are focused on praying for her to continue down her amazing path to victory. I know Kayleigh is going to do great I truly feel that in my heart. I have been praying all day today and tonight when my little boy went to sleep we said a special prayer for Miss Kayleigh to have God and all his special healing angels around her during her procedure tomorrow. I know she will do great she is just so beautiful. Give 100% of your faith to God and he will lead her and you guys through this. God has big plans for Kayleigh. This is the next step in the plan and once this is complete she will just grow, pack on weight, and the pulmonary hypertension will just fade away. She is a special little girl to so many and God will be there with her through each step of this special plan. Keep your head up, have 100% confidence in your decision, and give God all the glory and let him lead the way. You guys are truly amazing and inspiring to all who follow this blog. I will continue to pray for Kayleigh today and always.

May God continue to grant you the courage and strength. And provide the doctors and nurses with wisdom and the healing touch during her procedure tomorrow and all the days of her stay in the NICU until she is home with her loving family.

God bless,
Amber Hoberg

Six times her birth weight. So if a term baby is about six pounds, then they would have to be 36 pounds at 6 months to top Kayleigh's growth. Way to go Kayleigh!

With all that Kayleigh has been through, that is truly amazing.

Many prayers for tomorrow. Will be checking for an update, cause we all want to hear things went well. I believe they will go well.

Good luck tomorrow, and don't give the doctors hell Kayleigh. You look so darn cute in the sleeper we sent you(last picture) and look forward to seeing you in more of the ones we sent.

Hang in there, be strong, and be brave for mommy and daddy. They will need your strength for tomorrow K. We all know you have lots to go around.

I know others that have done similar comparisons and it really amazes me to see the growth in the little ones! I will be praying for Kayleigh today that she handles the procedure well and is able to keep calm. And then hopefully the pounds start adding on. I tell my baby now that her chubby legs are so cute, and I know this in once in a lifetime that being chubby is cute!

God bless and we'll be praying!

Thank you for the update and pictures!!

I will say I just heard of Kayleigh's story and spent about 3 hours Sat. Night reading it. last night I logged in to read some more. My son Jacob saw what I was reading and started crying. I asked what was wrong and he said "he loved that Baby and her name" He then started crying even harder and turned into sobbing. He wants "Kayleigh to not be sick" so he started praying for her. He kissed the computer screen. (Tear in my eye)He gets up this morning and asks to see Kayleigh and sure enough there are new pictures. He was so excited. Hope you know how much a "one pound gift" has touched our lives. You have some prayers from our corner. He wants to make her a card. Can we just send it to the Hospital. If you get a chance please let us know. Hope you can feel our prayers tomorrow. Take care and we will be checking back everyday.

Heavenly Father we thank you for the many wonderful things that you have given all of us, and even more then that we thank you for Baby Kayleigh, you have given her to all of us as a blessing in disguise. It has taken this tiny little miracle to help so many of us get our eyes back where they belong which is on You. We thank you for all of the miracles you have performed in her life thus far and pray for yet another miracle this morning. At 11 AM, we will all be praying as the surgeons prepare to work on baby Kayleigh and as Noon comes, we pray that you have everyone ready and you have Your hand on Kayleigh holding her, so she does not get scared and spiral out of control. Be with Adam and Aimee as they watch their little miracle once again go through another scarry procedure. We thank You for all that you are and Who you are. In Jesus Name - AMEN

Adam & AImee,

We are here for you, and everyone I know is praying for you. My whole church, my family Steve's family. A whole convent of Nun's is once again on prayer alert for baby Kayleigh, even though I am not Catholic, I know that those prayers will be heard just as ours will so, why not get them to pray as well. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you, and we will anxiously await word letting is know that Kayleigh is doing just fine.

In HIS Grip,

Katie, Steve, George & Sidney

P.S. I emailed you a picture of George praying for Kayleigh on Christmas morning.

Help her to feel Your strength and remain calm. Please be with her strong parents and keep them steady as they make decisions and await outcomes. Lord we thank you for this miracle that is Miss Kayleigh. We thank you for the power of prayer and fellowship, even on the internet that has united so many under Your name. In Jesus' name, Amen.

praying for weight gain..? I would be glad to ship her a few of my extra holiday pounds.. LOL!
she is getting so big, 6LB 4OZ. is the exact weight I brought my little guy home at.. that was 5 years ago but it is amazing how things like that stay in your mind forever! of course when they start out so tiny... you are aware of every oz they gain and you celebrate it like a birthday!
I am praying for smooth sailing tomorrow and will be sure to stop and pray for her!

God Bless you all.
