12/24/08 - A Christmas Miracle!!!

This photo is just too adorable!!!

Kayleigh had a rough start to her day, but she has been wonderful ever since and I think I know why. At first we thought Kayleigh was irritated from the gastrointestinal doctor coming by to get a feel for things in her tummy. She didn't like him poking around and she had one of her horrible episodes. She dropped her sats and spiraled out of control to the point where it took quite some time to get her sats back up to normal.

One of our primary nurses told Kayleigh that Santa wasn't going to come if she was a bad girl today, so she straightened up for the rest of the day. I think it had to do something with the massive poop she had when changed her diaper. I mean, Good Gracious!!! She left me a huuuuge nasty present for me and I have been "mostly" good all year. I thought I have seen big poops from her before, but this took two diapers to clean up. Whew!!! :) Needless to say, she felt so much better after I changed her and she was quickly off to sleep for the rest of the evening while we were there.

We spoke to the doctor for a good bit of time tonight and he prayed over Kayleigh for us. That makes you feel so wonderful to see a doctor do that with us. It was the second time he prayed over her and the last time was right before her open heart surgery. That leads me to tell you about what happened last week when Kayleigh wasn't doing so good. Aimee and I have contemplated for a while now to get Kayleigh baptized while she was here at the hospital and since things took a turn for the worse, we questioned again whether or not to do this. Now, we know whether she gets baptized or not, she is going to heaven. We also believe that a baptism should be chosen by the one who is getting baptized as it shows they're committing themselves to Christ and not someone else choosing it for them (such as us parents). If we were to baptize her, we wanted Wade Joye to do it for us as he was the one who baptized Aimee and I at Elevation Church. It just so happened that Liana was going in to surgery the same day that Kayleigh was at her worst, which was the same day we were contemplating the most about having her baptized (ironic huh?) Wade was more than happy to come up after his daughters surgery to baptize Kayleigh for us. When Wade was praying over Kayleigh, she began to desat, which I believe deep in my heart that she was beyond excited to be getting baptized that she lost control. Not to mention, Kayleigh started to progress the next day and make some serious changes in her prognosis. Now I am not saying that Wade has the healing touch, so don't bombard him with emails :) But, I feel Wade is an amazing follower of Jesus who sets a perfect example of how God wants us to be. Getting Kayleigh baptized by Wade was a very special moment for all of us and we appreciate the Joye's so very much for the love and support they have given us over these past 6 months. Adleigh and Liana have two of the most wonderful parents that anyone could ask for.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers! We have been getting so many wonderful emails, and we enjoy reading every single one of them. When you wake up to anxiously wait for a post, I am anxiously waiting to read emails. They really brighten up our days and make this journey so much easier. You all are amazing and we are so blessed to share Kayleigh's story and to hear how she has touched your lives. Besides keeping a great journal, that is the main reason I post every single night. I feel this has been my calling to do the will of God. Thank you for sharing in our journey with us. With everyone's love and Kayleigh's progress, this has truly been CHRISTMAS MIRACLE!!!

Our family wishes ALL of you a Wonderful Merry Christmas tomorrow.

God Bless,

The Freemans :)

What an incredible picture! I know this time last week, you didn't think you'd get to take such a photo. Kayliegh is an amazing girl, due to amazing parents who strongly stand by her side every step of the way. Look out though, cuz when she's a teenager, all this "strong will" is gonna be lots of fun :) Merry Christmas ya'll. Continuing to pray daily for your family.....

Adam and Aimee,

I am so touched and happy to see that Kayleigh is doing better! I have been on edge ever since we had that major scare and now I am just amazed to see her! Is she something or what?

I am Catholic, and follow almost all of the same ideas as you however we baptize our children at a very young age rather than allowing them to choose. I think that waiting for them to choose is a beautiful idea and i think that by Kayleigh responding in the only way that jer sick little body could the moment she was being baptized was her way of agreeing to follow our lord. God bless her! And of course she is going to heaven but IN MANY MANY YEARS!!! about 99 OR MORE!

I hope you have a merry christmas and just know that Kayleigh's story has allowed me and the world to witness miracles and god's plan, and the power of prayer. She is a little girl but has huge huge power.

AMEN!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I LOVE that picture of Kayleigh! Oh what a smile she brought to my face! That hat is just adorable! I'm so glad you posted early tonight! A Christmas picture of Kayleigh is just what I wanted to see before I go to bed for the night! I got all my kids to bed and Santa is on his way but I am equally excited to read your blog and know that Kayleigh is progressing. She is truly a Christmas miracle and it makes Christmas so much more special seeing the power of our God work through your family and everyone who reads this blog.

Thank you Jesus! I literally stand in AWE of witnessing the works of our Lord.

Merry Christmas Freeman Family!!! From my heart to yours, I pray that Kayleigh continues to progress! She truly is a Christmas miracle. Hearing Kayleigh's story has really made me come back to praying in a way I have not done in a long time. My grandmother is 96 and is suffering so much. I pray that God will lead her home so that she no longer has to live her life the way she never wanted to. I got down on my knees and prayed that God would take my grandmother and keep little Kayleigh here on earth. I want Kayleigh to have that chance to live 95 more years!!! Have a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas Adam, Aimee, Allyson, Brandon, and Kayleigh. Her picture is just too adorable it makes my heart melt. I am just in awe of the Lord's wonderful miracles and Kayleigh is just that a CHRISTMAS MIRACLE. That little present to you Adam was just Kayleigh's way of saying "I love you dad, and Merry Christmas." As my son lay next to me asleep waiting for Santa to come I can only thank God for the blessings I have been given in life. I also thank God for Kayleigh and the wonderful things she has done for her family and all of mankind. Keep the faith and have a blessed Christmas.

Merry Christmas your family. Kayleigh is an inspiration, and an addiction all wrapped in one adorable package.

Your faith has such an influence. I am not a practicing Christian. Age and life have made me a bit cynical. But I find that I feel moved to pray for Kayleigh and my own medically challenged kids more often since I have been captured by your story.

Merry Christmas Kayleigh

I am at a loss for words - other than to say that Kayleigh truly is showing everyone what a true miracle is - a week ago you weren't sure if you had hours or days left to spend with her - now she's wearing her little Christmas hat - Jesus is the reason for the season... and hearing Kayleighs story can't help but make you believe!!!

God be with all of you and have a wonderful Christmas

Merry Christmas, Kayleigh!
Looks like you all got your Christmas miracle this year! You are beyond blessed! Thanks so much for sharing your journey with all of us. It is a true testament of faith, and prayer, and love.

PS. Just FYI. Someone has been posting your home address and some very nasty things about your family on some other sites. Just thought you would like to know since you have kids and since your home address is now posted for anyone to see. I worry for your safety! Maybe you might consider removing your home address from the site, so that you don't get any crazies stalking your children. I have to say it got me worried when I read those mean things! Don't worry, I personally don't believe those things. I keep on loving your daughter and praying for her recovery.

Merry Christmas!!! Isn't it wonderful to see such a miracle right before your very eyes?!?!?! I am always anxious to read the updates and then report to our church family the praises I see every single day in Kayleigh's life. Wade is a very special person to perform the baptism of your miracle baby. Thanks Wade for taking care of that special task in the Freeman's life. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to your family! Kayleigh remains in my prayers. Stay strong...my husband and I went through 90+ days in the hospital (mainly for our daughter) and we can't fathom how hard it must be for your family. The Lord will pull you through it. I believe that.
