I like the au natural best! Too funny. I noticed Kayleigh's head is extremely large, is she okay? Are the docs concerned with any brain swelling? I know thats one of the symptoms they look for, the head getting too large.

Kerren said...

ha ha ha.. too sweet.. I love the uni-brow... :)

Reading about her progress and seeing new pictures of her really brightens my days... Keep them coming!

Something else I've noticed on several different pictures is Kayleigh has the prettiest little hands!

She is filling out so much as is just a babydoll!

I commend you and Aimee so much for enduring and continuing on through this tough journey! Continue to trust in the One who provides your strength, and meets all our needs.

I noticed that fewer and fewer people are commenting on your blog. It's a real shame you are losing your followers. People love a sick child. One that is doing better, not so much.

Just AINT right...not a bit...hehe. Just not right at all! BUT...seeing as how you asked so nicely for us to pick one, I am going to go with The Miley's Dad Mullet! Not right I'm tellin' ya! Too funny though!

I am trying to get better at answering some questions that you all post.

Adam/Sherry - Yes, they started her feeds back to see how she does. So far, so good. Her tummy is still blown up a little, but she is releasing air (aka Farting), and having stools (aka Pooping).

Alex - Yes, Thank you :) It should be 3/22. The funny thing is, I doubled checked to make sure I posted the 22 correctly, but overlooked what month I put in. :)

Jessie - Thanks for sharing what an extremly large head Kayleigh has. I was worried that she would be upset about us putting funny hair on her, lol. They do measurements every week and she is proportionate to the schedule. I agree that it looks large, but because it has not been completely worked with on it's roudness, it makes it look larger. We will double check though because God doesn't speak through us for no reason, so we take everything you all say in to account :)

Kerren - I am there with bells on! If Kayleigh can make it, we will get a snorkle that hooks up to her trach and go swimming with some great whites :)

Lindsey - They are waiting for her to get back to 100% before they do the procedure. Her belly is still a little too large to start poking around on it.

I hope I didn't miss one. I doubles checked, but hey...I double checked my date entry last night and I messed that up too :)

Thank you all so much for your comments and my favorite is the Comb Over, for sure.

God Bless,

Adam :)

Alright guys, number four was just nasty! She will get you for that one! :) Has she had her sight test yet?? i forgot to ask Aimee the other day when I emailed her. I'm so glad K is doing so well. She is really filling out! Her little cheeks are chubby!! Love you guys!

she's looking alot like mama these days!!

Adam said...

Nikki - No eyesight test yet. They plan to do the MRI when they do the G-tube surgery. That won't happen until she is back to 100% with her feeding and tummy issues. Right now she has a low grade temperature, so we are keeping an eye on why that is. Hopefully this isn't a sign of something bad to come.

Thanks,

Adam

Freman's:
I wanted to comment and what Jessie had said about Kayleigh's head. I have a nephew that was born at 29 wks and his head always looked bigger until he got older and gained weight and then it all started to balance out and look fine. She is just beautiful to me!!! I saw where you had posted that she had a slight fever I just stopped and said a special pray for this and I know it will be ok, we serve an awesome God.

I was also
going to tell you guys that Miss Kayleigh is the reason for my husband and I getting a home computer. :) Our anniversary is next month and we bought a laptop for each other as telling Nicky (my husband) I wished we had a home computer so I could keep up with Kayleigh at night and on the weekends not just during the day at work. Look we he did for me, I know have the laptop so I can keep up all the time. I am telling you guys you will never know how much you have touched me and what a blessing it is to keep up with Kayleigh day in and day out.

I hope the donation/giveaway went well and that there will be a post coming soon on the results. Hope you guys have a good night.

I hope this isn't taken the wrong way, but I happen to be a NICU nurse, and I agree with the above poster regarding Kayleigh's head circumference. Definitely worth mentioning to the docs. Especially if you have noticed it growing larger. Many times, the docs tend to overlook those things when busy focusing on the more obvious issues such as Kay'
s recent stomach issues. In picture #2, it appears as though her forehead is quite swollen making her eyes seem sunk in a bit. Please never feel like you are being a nagging parent by bringing things up to the docs. It is your right. And sometimes Docs don't notice everything on these lil ones. Hope all is well. Will continue praying for little Kay.

anyway...OMG! kayliegh is GROWING! super fast! and that hair! (her real hair,I mean..I'm voting for the comb over lol) I am getting soooooo excited for that GREAT DAY when Kayleigh won't be classified as a "preemie" anymore..she WAS a preemie..no more! you have beaten all odds time and again miracle!! and someday no one will guess what you went thru! BECAUSE YOU WILL BEAT PREMATURNESS!!!!! YOU WILL WIN!!

Do you post a running tally somewhere of how much money total has been donated to y'all? I read on the other blog that you guys have already gotten 80,000k from donations already. Is that true? If so, just WOW!

Here are some more answers to your questions.

NICU RN - Thank you for your post. We are checking in with the doctors about the head circumferance. They do her measurements weekly, so they will know when something is out of the ordinary. We will certainly bring this up to them tomorrow though. Thank you

Pookie Bear - Kayleigh is not able to drink from a bottle yet and the reason they want to do the g-tube is so that Kayleigh can get home quick and take her time learning to take a bottle. She has shown poor signs of taking a bottle over the past month, so we have agreed this is the best route. If she gets home and does great with a bottle, then we will just get the g-tube taken back out sooner. Great question.

Margaret - I understand what Annonymous is saying and it didn't mean we were getting less readers, just less comments. It actually makes perfect sense that people comment more when Kayleigh is sick to show that they are there thinking and praying for us. Even though we would love to get comments when she it (rains or shine), we are more than blessed to be lifted up when times are at their worst.

BKK - I would love to hear what blog you are speaking of because we are no where near that amount. If you know something we don't know, please surprise us. lol

We are more than blessed to have received the amount we have gotten, but if I were to guess off the top of my head, we are less than $3000 and that may be stretching it. Aubrey will be tallying it all up over the next couple days, so I will be more than happy to share with you all how much help we have received.

Thank you to all of those who participated and we appreciate the support every single one of you have given us just in donations and in prayers. That means more to us than anything.

God Bless,

Adam :)

I also wanted to say that I think Kayleigh's head is beautiful! :o) It doesn't look too big to me at all.

And one more thing, in response to someone else's comment...you haven't lost anyone as a follower. I am on here EVERYDAY since Kayleigh was even born, and I've only posted a hand full of times. I love your family and pray everyday that Kayleigh keeps up her fight...she rocks!

Hey ya'll. It's so nice to see you guys having some fun!!! The sale went well this weekend so we'll be sending you a little over a thousand in a check and gift cards plus we have a few extra things as well. Hope this takes a little of the stress off for next month.
Oh and let me weigh in on the head matter...it may look a little larger too because she doesn't have any hair. This may be a dumb question but why doesn't she have any? Is it because she is like a newborn (weight and all) or is the meds? Just curious.
Can't wait to hear how the raffle went. I would think it's more than $3000. My friends kept donating but did not understand where to put a package or referral. I kept having to email Aubrey what they wanted b/c she said she had to know before the drawing. If you didn't read the note above the donate sign then once you got in it didn't tell you where to put a package number. Aubrey said lots of people had the same problem. Nice to know my friends are not just clueless! Anyway, hope our package brings ya lots of dinero :)

I've been following for a long time, but never commented - just prayed a lot. I've gotta say now that she's definitely looking more and more like Aimee in these pics! As mommy of a former 26-weeker, I have seen my own little one go through remarkable changes in appearance in the first year and it looks like Kayleigh is at that stage where her face is really starting to show more expressions and real personality! It's wonderful to see you having so much fun with her in these pictures when just a few months ago it looked like these days might not ever come. Much love and continued prayers for your family!
