She looks amazing!!!! I love that picture of her with her mouth wide open, like she's protesting! I am so sorry I haven't gotten a chance to send your DVD yet-- it is sitting on my kitchen counter, it just needs a safe, secure envelop! Kurt is going to the post office today, you should have it by the weekend!!!

Oh, she is growing up so much and looks absolutely fabulous! Thanks for sharing. The picture of her in the Bumbo chair (the full shot of chair and her) looks like she is talking on the phone laid up on the recliner chair with the look of "Dad" I'm on the phone, as if she was a teenager...I know Ssshhhh, you don't want them growing up so fast. I hope the next few weeks prove to easy challenges and everything looks and goes great. Can't wait for Kayleigh to come home...even though it is another month, it is getting close now...I can feel it, she is going to come home! Take Care and give her plenty of xoxo

Thank you for sharing Kayleigh with us! What a little fighter she is, and she really is looking sooo good! I continue to pray that she will be home with you soon.

I didn't vote in the poll before, but definitely think little Kayleigh looks like Amy. She's absolutley beautiful... as is your whole family!!!

Will Kayleigh need a shunt to drain fluid from her head? I noticed her head is really large especially her forehead part. IS that because of the extra fluid accumulating in brain?

Anonymous said...

We got nursing care only for 40 hrs per week , monday thru friday only. They told us there was no reason we couldnt care for our own child in the evenings and during weekends. You are lucky that your insurance co. is providing round the clock care, 7 days per week!!
I was wondering, do you and Aimee want to have more children?

Melody said...

It might just be the angles of the camera, but she is looking so big!! Every time I see new photos of Kayleigh she looks amazingly healthy and ready to take on the world! :) She looks great!!

Oh man, is she beautiful! It's been awhile since i've posted, but i check in on her every other day!

She has grown sooo much over the past months, and is starting to favor her beautiful Mommy!
but then again, in some pics, i see Dadyy!!!!

She is truely a blessing!!

I just wanted to say hey. I stumbled across Kayleigh's blog a few weeks ago, and it amazed me. So I went back and started reading from the beginning. She is such a strong tough little angel! I am truly inspired by ya'lls faith! I have always been a christian, but I am ashamed to say, I haven't always and still don't always walk the path that I should, or that I truly want to. I find it so hard with tempations in everyday life a/k/a satan! I have been praying for Kayleigh and the rest of your family! I love coming to check for updates on the blog, they are always so inspiring! God Bless!

Patty,

I agree with you 100%, I don't know how they think she is blind because she looks at us and reacts to light. I don't know, we'll see what the MRI shows.

Lisa,

No, she won't have the trach forever. Only until the bronchials strengthen and can stay open without constanst pressure from the trach vent.

Jasmine,

Kayleigh doesn't have any fluid in her head that needs to be drained. She was just blessed with a Freeman "Big Head" :) However, they have been working on laying her in different directions so her head will shape better. With all the sickness she had in December, her head became more square then round.

JLGator,

She is not showing any signs of teeth yet :)

Tay,

We are truly blessed to get the 24/7 care, but that will only be for a couplem months and then it starts to taper off. The reason she needs all that care is because of the trach and the Flolan. IF the trach pops off, she will sufficate and die. The Flolan only has a 3-5 minute life to it, so if the line is not connected correctly or the line is pinched, Kayleigh could go in to a hypertensive episode that will kill her. It is scary, but we are happy to a professional in the house to keep an eye on her all the time.

Aimee and I do want to have more children. How many more? Not sure yet :) Maybe 10, lol jk.

God Bless,

Adam
