4/3/09 - Biopsy Completed

This is a quick post to let everyone know that Kayleigh had her biospy procedure this morning and we are waiting for the results. Please pray those results are negative for Hirschsprung's disease.

We should get the results back within 24 hours, so hopefully tomorrow we will be able to post the news.

Kayleigh is having another great day today and she handled the procedure like a champ.

Thank you all for everything and God Bless,

I was just curious on how big she is now. She looks so tiny in the pics u just posted. I look at the pics on here and look at my girl, she is 7 months old, and she looks like a giant compaired to Kayleigh. I was just in the hospital with her a month ago. I thought I was going to go crazy. She was on life support and they couldn't tell me why, we still don't know why. We should find out at the end of the month after results come in. After what I went thru in just a week my heart truly goes out to you and your husband. Kayleigh is so stong and she gets it from her parents. She couldn't fight this w/o you two.

Hi,

I frequent your blog but have never commented. Thanks for keeping us all up to date!

I wanted to say, we have a 10 month old (6-11) with a long list of GI issues. Ellie's belly would also swell, she would occasionally vomit feces, she couldn't poop on her own, allergic to literally EVERYTHING in her stomach, and is also on Neocate- and will be until 24 months. She has been through multiple procedures including rectal suction biopsy, flex-sig, upper GI, and endoscopy just to name a few. They though she had Hirschprungs, too. Nope.

The diagnosis? Multiple Eosinophilic Disorders and Celiac disease. No, I'm not saying she has Celiac- she hasn't had any food for that! BUT, I would really like you to search out more on Eosiniphilic Disorders. Also, there is a cousin to Hirschsprungs called Neuronal Intestinal Dysplasia. I'd also look into that!

Good luck!
