But, Not for me :(
Since Aimee is having a hard time producing milk, we figured it would be the best thing for Aimee told hold Kayleigh today instead of me. I know she is working really hard pumping every 2 - 3 hours through the night and if this is one of the best things for Aimee and Kayleigh, then I am completely fine giving up my spot to help my girls out.
I am glad I was able to get some good video of the Kangaroo care so you can see Miss Kayleigh in action. Turn up the volume and you can hear her whimper when the nurse brings her over to Aimee and lays her down. She was just so precious lying on Aimee today and she did really well for over 30 minutes with out a desat. Although, it got to a point where she started having troubles though, so we had to put her back in. I just think she was getting tired and cranky. That pink beanie is just so adorable on her.
Overall, she had another really good day and they have increased her food intake. Aimee was a able to feed her through the tube today. She is now receiving one "cc" every 3 hours, instead of 6 hours. Since they've increased her food, we are hoping to see more poops and maybe a little bit of weight gain.
I got a really good idea about doing size comparisons so when she gets older, she can see how small she really was. If there are any other good ideas/tips that we should do, please let me know.
Other than that, enjoy our video and keep praying for our Kayleigh :)

Aw. That was so heartwarming to see Kayleigh snuggling with her mommy. I bet she loved getting to hear, feel and smell her. I am sure that did her a ton of good. (sorry you missed out on the chance, though, Adam)
What a miracle baby.
There are these dolls, Sam (Davids mom) has one. You can get them the same size and weight of your preemie. So that might be something to look into for the size comparison thing.
Sounds like a great day! Kayleigh looks so comfy on her mommy :o)

Ooooh, precious baby girl! I remember how terribly, TERRIBLY important getting that kangaroo time became to us. I'm so glad you all are getting your time in already!
I'm praying that she gets some good rest in, too, so she can groooow!
Yay! for all of you...keep fighting!
I have been praying for your little Kayleigh since I first saw Aimee's post on BBC - what an amazing, inspiring story. I just felt compelled to post tonight when I saw the picture of Kayleigh laying on her mama. I have three little girls myself and I recognize the look on Kayleigh's face - pure contentment. She just looks so relaxed and peaceful - she knows she's with mama. She is truly amazing. I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers.
God Bless,
Kristin

I just wanted to say congrats. She is beautiful. I'm so happy she's doing so good. I too have been praying since the first time I read yaws thread on BBC. I have a set of twins one weighed 1lb 10oz and the other weighed 1lb 5oz. She seems to be being doing great to be so small. She amazing to me.....I was so tickled when she come off the vent so soon and is only on the cannula. I guess I should say no longer intubated. Again she is beautiful. I'm also happy that yaw can hold her.
Aimee and Adam,
I check on here all the time although I don't always get a chance to post. I have to agree witha pp that said the look on Kayleighs face knew she was with her mama. Sorry though that you did not get to hold her. Your day will come though, just hang in there.
She is doing so well and I am glad to hear that. I will never believe anyone when they say miracles don't happen because Kayleigh is the result of nothing more but a miracle. I pray that she continues to do well. The food intake increase should help with a little weight.
One thing I found that helped me when I would pump during Calebs stay in the NICU was taking a picture of him and thne focusing on it. It did take me about a week and a half to get up to 2cc per breast. Aimee, just drink lots of water.
As far as the size comparison thing, try like a Coke can, a piece of paper, and then just move up from there. I'm not very creative, but these seem like practical things.
Okay I feel like I am hogging the board. Best of luck to you guys through the night and I will check in tomrrow night.

What a great video. So precious. Make sure you get the famous weding ring around her arm shot and her hands on top of your hand. Oh her feet in your hand too.
Thank you so much for keeping us all up dated. I daily look for an update to see how she is doing.

Just thought of something I forgot to mention in my post last night.... I had a coworker who had twins about 8 or 9 weeks early. She took pictures of them laying next to the same stuffed animal to show how they were growing. Maybe her new little Brittany will make a good partner for the pictures?
Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
God Bless,
Kristin

My Friend's son was 15 ounces when he was born and they have a picture of him next to a 100 dollar bill, he was smaller. I have pictures with my son next to my husbands hand which showed how small he really was. Kayleigh is a fighter and will come out on top even though it's difficult at first. It makes your bond that much stronger:)
Hi there!!
I am from the sept08 bbc group. Although my daughter did not make it to her due date and passed away. But i have been there since the start of your struggle with Kayleigh and you all are so AMAZING! Its so heart warming to see how far shes made it and has beat the odds SO MUCH! You all are in my thoughts and prayers and the pictures are so adorable!!my name on bbc is babygraves08 and Aimee sent me a wonderful email when i was stuggling thankyou
HI Guys. I am reading your blog everyday, and today just had to reply after seeing that beautiful video. My name is Kristy, I live in OZ and am due with baby no5 in September. You have a very special little girl there, who shares the same name as my youngest (just different spelling, Kaylee) and I can tell you is she is anything like my little girl she will be a fighter forever and prove everyone wrong. My Drs prepared to deliver my dd at 31 weeks, and even after our situation improved told me to expect that we would not get to full term, but we blew them away when we did!!!! Se is now a 15mth old delight who shocks ua with how advanced she is every day. I just know that your little girl will be the same. Take Care!
One of my most prized possessions is a little doll that I was given as a gift from http://www.weebundles.com/
It's actual size of David when he was born. By the time I received it in the mail, David was several months old so he was significantly bigger than that... and I couldn't contain the tears looking at the doll and remembering.
Another good idea is to take pictures each month with that little puppy dog doll that you have - you'll be able to see how big she's getting by how small the dog will start to look!!
I'm so glad she's been having good days.
WOW...i can't believe how tiny she was. i've been catching up from the beginning:)
