Yesterday and today were two really great days of growth for Kayleigh. I am just hoping this kind of growth continues. She is currently at 1587 grams which is 3 1/2 lbs. She grew over 80 grams yesterday and over 60 grams today. I am just so pumped up to see that kind of growth.
Other than that, she came off her TPN (IV Nutrients), so she no longer has a PCVC (long term IV thread) in her foot. But....she had some puss come out of that IV location, so they put another IV in her other leg to administer antibiotics for safety. She is not showing any signs of infection, but they want to be cautious. She is satting good and feeding very well. If she doesn't finish her bottle, she is getting the rest through a tube and is not having any aspirates. She is breathing and swallowing much better now. Aimee has been trying to breast feed Kayleigh and has not been having a lot of luck, but today it seems Kayleigh took to her a little better than the past couple days. So, it looks like she will get better in time. We just need to keep practicing.
Aimee and I went to a community garage sale yesterday and we got a bassinet and a swing for dirt cheap. They are so cute and barely used. I thought that we would want to spoil Kayleigh with all new things, but we couldn't pass up on these two items. Together we paid $45 when we would have paid $200 more if we got them new. Not to mention, they are in really good condition and were barely used. We couldn't have been at a better place and time. I also got a new office chair for $15, which I am so comfy in right now! I must say that I thought yard sales are where you just buy other people's junk, but we made out big time and I am hooked! I can't wait to go again. ha!
I hope everyone has a wonderful start to a new week. I am sure Kayleigh's progress will put you in a good mood being that Monday mornings are never fun.
God Bless,
The Freemans :)

I am so glad that Kayleigh seems to be doing better and better each day! I've enjoyed reading that the good days keep on coming. Let's keep it that way! Congrats
Boy, Kayleigh's blogsite is just part of my daily routine now! I'm so happy that she grew so much!!!!
I have to tell you that once you begin finding items like that in yard sales you will be hooked! I love yardsailing because of that! You can even find tons of adorable baby clothing because babies grow out of things so quickly. Some things you can buy never used! You are right, you just have to be in the right place at the right time!
Horay!
Grow Kaleight Grow!!!! On her way to 4 pounds!

Man when Kayleigh grows, she grows! And yard sales are FUN! sometimes you have to sift through other peoples junk, but everyone once in awhile you find that diamond in the rough. That's the thing to do down here in Kentucky.
Well God Bless and keep growing Kayleigh.

I've been following your site for some time now....I am so happy the bad days are behind you and you look forward to many GREAT days!! I'm sure you will have bumps in the road, but the great days will far outcome the bad.
I had to laugh about your garage sale finds. I too, have often thought that it was all junk. However, this past summer, I attended a few and found many great finds!!! Check out my blog, I have a few things listed on there, with pics!!
Hope its another great day!!

Have you guys tried to contact channel TLC. They have some good family shows. I know you guys are trying to reach out to other people who are hoping for some miracle to happen in their life too. That way Kayleigh can bring a ray of hope to millions who watch that channel. Kayleigh is surely an inspiration by herself to many.
Take care

hey there!!! I've been a follower since you were on babycenter and have checked in periodically to see how everyone is doing! It's amazing how she has started to flourish!! They say that once preemies hit around their due date that they "wake up" and sounds like she has! Grow baby grow!
Just a note on breastfeeding....my 33 weeker was fed solely breastmilk in the NICU and the neonatologist who checked her out said she had never seen a baby gain so much weight and keep it on while she was in the NICU! Breast if best! She didn't get the hang of nursing until she came home and she basically started refusing bottles in the following weeks! She's 14 months old and still bf'ing and I'm loving every minute of it! So don't get discouraged about the bf'ing!!!!!! She's gaining weight and you just wait...I bet she becomes a "booby baby" when she gets home!!!
