12/25/08 - MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours. I sure hope everyone had as much fun with their family as we did. We woke up early this morning and opened up presents here at our house and shortly after that, we went to Aimee's mom's house to celebrate with the whole family. "Thank you so much Nama for doing Christmas at your house this year as it was one less thing we had to stress out about." After that was all said and done, we went to spend Christmas time with sweet Kayleigh. She didn't want to party like everyone else, instead she just slept and slept some more.

She is having a much better day since yesterday morning's events. I wasn't able to get any good photos because she was face down, drooling and snotting like a champ! "That's my girl" They have had to suction her out quite a bit today, but it is good that she is getting it all out of her system. The last x-ray showed the lungs are clearing up very well. The right side has actually looking better than the left side now, which is great but we are definitely not at 100% yet.

Monday is the scheduled day for the jg-tube procedure. We can cancel it up to ten minutes before the procedure, so depending on how Kayleigh is doing will depend on whether or not we go through with it. We are all for the jg-tube to be inserted, but our biggest fear is Kayleigh's prognosis at the time of the procedure and if she will be able to handle it. I know she will be heavily sedated, paralyzed and on anesthesia, but she is still very sensitive to the slightest touch and could spiral out of control at anytime.

After speaking with the doctor in length, the biggest fear is coronary pulmonale, which is right side heart failure. The basis behind that scenario is due to the right side of the heart's inability to withstand the pulmonary pressures caused by her hypertension. The jg-tube will reduce the risk of damaging the lungs anymore, food will help Kayleigh grow and hopefully we can buy us some time to grow without the heart failing on us. It seems that even if Kayleigh's pressures come down, she still needs to grow quickly so she can build new lung tissue and grow out of this problem she has. It is not going to happen over night, so we can only pray that she stay healthy and grow as quickly as possible.

Regards to the nasty emails we have gotten and some of the threats out there, Aimee and I appreciate your comments today as we want to make sure we never hurt anyone's feelings. We have taken in to consideration about contacting the authorities once we lock down a message board or site that is making these threats. If anyone comes across one of these sites, please email us so we can pass it on to team of authorities who will locate these people by their IP Addresses and quickly resolve the issues. We aren't going to play any games with our children's lives and I am sure you all wouldn't either. It would be best to pray for these people and hope they find their way to salvation before it is too late.

Thank you everyone for being so awesome to our family and making this Christmas such a wonderful and blessed filled day. Everyone thanks us all the time for sharing Kayleigh's story with them, but I want to thank you for listening. I have never been as passionate about writing until I started this blog. I never knew what God's plan was for me until I started writing this blog. I never thought that I would be able to save someone or bring their relationship closer to God until I started writing this blog.

I thought that I would someday die and have to answer to God on why I didn't honor or glorify Him like I should have in my lifetime. Kayleigh has not only been a miracle or blessing to all of you, but she has also been a miracle and blessing to me. She has brought me closer to God and she has allowed me to find my purpose to glorify God. She has given me a new found strength to wear my heart on my sleeve and profess my deepest emotions to thousands of people who I have never met before with the sole purpose of helping every single one of you in your own lives.

I will never stop sharing Kayleigh's story and I will never count God out of the reasons why Kayleigh is here and is still alive. Beyond this blog, I am counting on every single one of you to help me reach many many more people to continue making a difference in their lives too. I am hungry to do God's will and change this crazy world one person at a time. Not to mention, if we can gather more and more prayer warriors for Kayleigh, it certainly can't hurt. If Kayleigh can continue to pull on the heartstrings of so many people and make them better people, then I am never going to quit.

Let's work together for a common good and glorify God together. Contact family, friends, churches, news, radio, OPRAH :) or anyone else you can think of that would be a great way for us to do God's will. Not many people get a chance to leave a legacy where they did everything they possibly could with what God has given them (Good or Bad) and made it in to something so special to where it has changed the lives of so many. God is present through Kayleigh and the world needs to know about Him. Amen!!!

Please enjoy some of our family Christmas photos:

God Bless,

The Freemans :)

Adam and Amimee you have an amazing family and we rejoice in your informative and oh so personal blog. Watching Kayleigh grow has been wonderful, the way you tell her story is like we are there with you. The journey has been long, rewarding and sometimes very difficult but you have always kept people who care in touch with the happenings of the day. Always remember people donate because it is their choice not because they have too. Anyone who does not love and enjoy sweet Kayleigh's story, well don't bother reading it and making comments that almost everyone does not want to hear. We love to hear you updates on presious Kayleigh and no one can take away the love and joy you bring too so many everyday.

I just read your post about people sending nasty emails to your family and I am so sorry that you have to deal with this. I personally have found inspiration in Kayleigh's story. It has made me realize what is important in life. i frequently have friends and family asking me how she is doing because they know that my family has grown to truly love and care for her. We all wear our bracelets and get questions about those from a lot of people too. I know how hard it is to ask for help but when we do there is great comfort in knowing people care enough to provide it. You guys keep doing what you are doing, so many are truly enjoying it.

Dear Freeman Family,

I started following Kayleigh's story after hearing about her from Kaitlyn Edward's family. I have sent her story to all of my friends/family and we have been praying for you all. I have three babies and I can't imagine how I would be if any of them had to travel such a hard road as Kayleigh. She has made me appreciate every moment with my babies even more. Kayleigh is a brave little girl and obviously has a beautiful, sweet spirit. God delights Himself in her - always remember that! He loves Kayleigh and loves you and your precious family as well. Continue to be strong - you have the amazing family of God at your back to hold you up!

Sincerely,
Julia, Mark, Daniel, Caroline, and Anne Peskir

I am so glad that you had a great Christmas and that you got to spend time with all your family - that is what the day is all about.

I hope everything goes well with little Kayleigh's procedure on Monday. My family will be thinking of her and praying for her sweet little soul.

Also, HOW FANTASTIC DOES AIMEE LOOK?? She doesn't look like she had a baby 6 months ago. Thanks for sharing your Christmas pics.

Focus on the positive and enjoy your time with your family and friends (know that you have plenty out there)

I have never met you or your family. I got this link from a friend, Misti McAllister Poland, here in Georgia. I took the time to read every entry from the beginning and cried my way through many of them. I have never had a preemie baby or gone through anything that you have gone through or will go through, but my heart goes out to you. My prayers are with you. I have read over the course of your entries the increased faith you have gained in Jesus Christ. It is evident as the weeks go by. We all have lapses in faith, maturity and focus - good gosh -we are human. But here is what I want you to know. When you reunite with the Lord, He will not ask you about what you didn't do. He will rejoice in what you have done. He will not hold you accountable for the glory you didn't give, He'll rejoice for the glory you did give. Christmas allowed for Easter to happen. Our sins were washed away by the redemptive blood of the Father's son on the cross. And you know what? He takes you from where you ARE not from where you WERE! Every day is a new day!
Remember that He created us and knows we aren't perfect. He does want us to strive to be Christlike in every way we can. We will not be perfect until we meet Him!
Please be encouraged by those that are lifting you up in prayer and not be discouraged by those that persecute you. Pray about each decision you make and let the Lord speak to you. He will give the peace needed to confirm each decision you make.
Blessings and prayers

I just read some of your recent posts. I sit with my son 2 1/2 years on the other side of an NO2 machine, g-tube and fundo surgery. Our little guy is almost three years old. It has been an amazing journey. We have a carepage for our son and echo so many of your thoughts of the blessing our children bring to our life. It has been a choice to give God glory along the path, but what a wonderful (and hard) path it has been. I am finally in a place that I want WHATEVER will bring God glory. I am thankful for each day with our sweet son.

I will pray for your family! I remember our church having a fundraiser for our son after we lost private health insurance. I felt so guilty, but I would have traded all the money in the world to have my son well. Money makes some people act/say horrible things, but remember that is their issue, not yours. Keep your time and energy to focus on your family. For us, the money issues were the hardest to face in the midst of everything else. Keep shining for Him (Matt 5:16) and remember He has given you EVERYTHING you need for life and godliness!

Blessings! Love, Olivia

I just started reading last week and have been praying for your entire family since. I am sorry about the nasty people in this world. You are right though it is the devil controlling them. I can't quote the verse but the Bible says "no weapon formed against you will prosper" and another verse says "what the devil tried to use for harm God will turn to good." Those are paraphrased, I will try to find those verses today but I hope they encourage you. God is all powerful!

I am so happy to hear that Christmas was wonderful for you all! It sounds like Kayleigh got a great gift of peaceful rest so she can continue to heal and grow!
God Bless you all!

I am so happy that your Christmas was wonderful and that sweet Kayleigh had a great sleep filled day. I am sure she was dreaming of a White Christmas (wish we would have had that here in Texas). Kayleigh has been such an inspiration and continues to show God's light and love to the whole world. She is an amazing little girl and I thank God for putting her in my life by coming across your blog. I shared Kayleigh's story yesterday with a lot of my family members and we prayed for her as well. I think her story makes so many feel blessed with the gifts they have been given by God. I will be praying for Kayleigh through the weekend and especially on Monday. She is a strong girl and I believe this procedure is just what she needs to get better quickly and get home to her loving family as soon as possible. She knows your love for her is unmeasurable and I can feel how much she means to you guys and to everyone else. I hope you have another blessed day today and for all the days to come. May Kayleigh continue to get well, progress, and have more sleep filled wonderful days in the NICU until she can come home to her beautiful pink and brown room.

I'm so happy to hear that you and your family had a great Christmas! Kayleigh is an amazing little girl. She's definitely your gift from God and this story has had an impact on many people! So don't let the negative people in this world discourage you! You are doing a wonderful thing here and Kayleigh is in my thoughts and prayers as well as the rest of your family! Stay strong and keep doing what you're doing Adam & Aimee!

Thanks for your lovely family pictures, Adam. Aimee and your daughter are so beautiful/pretty and you are so young-looking, Adam! I am glad you and your family were able to enjoy Xmas.

Maybe you can get a 2nd career as a Pastor (minister) of a church. You sure preach the gospel well now after you had Kayleigh.

God Bless you and Kayleigh! Hope she will improve faster and the time takes shorter (rather than longer) to get out of the hospital!

We all need a miracle sometime in our life!

I have been following your blog for a few weeks now, and pray for Kayleigh and your family daily. I am rejoicing that she is doing well! What a true Christmas miracle. I am saddened to hear that people are harrassing you. How disappointing. I will pray for your continued safety, and for the maturity and wisdom with which you are handling this. Take heart in the knowledge that there are many of us rooting for you and only wishing you well! Merry Christmas! I find your blog and Kayleigh's journey to be a true inspiration, and a reminder of how precious life is.

Well Merry Christmas Freeman family. (yesterday) as I'm just now having a chance to log on. It's so wonderful to see how well you all are doing, especially sweet Kayleigh! You couldn't ask for a better gift than that. This is what Christmas is all about. I'm sorry there are people out there being rude, but try not to let it get to you too much. Also your other chidren are adorable too and I think Allyson looks just like Aimee.....you can definitely see the resembelence there. You guys are still,as always, in our daily thoughts and prayers and I hope you have a great weekend. =)

I wanted to stop by and let you know I am praying for Kaleigh. I have sent many fervent prayers up for Her. I will continue to pray for her healing. Through CHRIST anything is possible. I see how much she has touch the lives of those around her and those that follow the blog. Please post the time of the surgery so that I can take a moment during the day to stop and pray. While I am praying for those that showed such hate for your family, I think they need no more public attention. They will answer for the things they have done on judgment day. The last thing you all need is to have to deal with people filled with the devil.

It is solely because of your blog that I made the decision to go to church again. The evidence of the power of prayer is too overwhelming to ignore. Thank God for Kayleigh and thank God for YOU for doing this for us. Your story is an inspiration. It is too bad people have to take something so uplifting and powerful and turn it into something so dark and hateful. Concentrate on your family and 'try' to ignore the negative. You have fulfilled your goal as far as I am concerned because without this blog I would have never sought God. Thank you Adam, Aimee and Kayleigh for everything. God Bless!

Merry Christmas! So glad to hear that Kayleigh is improving yet again! I love the "Waldo" toque too (sorry, to you Americans I guess that's a "knit cap" ... we Canadians say "toque" pronounced too-k). I'm shocked that anyone would have anything but kind words and support to send your way, but I'll be praying for little Kayleigh to touch their lives as well. She is such an amazing little girl!

2008 has proven to be so miraculous for you all, I am praying for more blessings in 2009!

With love and prayers,

Freeman Family- I stumbled upon your blog a couple of weeks ago. My daughter Addison was born only 1 day after your sweet Kayleigh at 35 weeks. I am so drawn to your story and while I read about Kayleigh's progress Addie pounds away at the computer almost like she wants to know about your sweet girl. Your sweet daughter is a miracle and should be treated as such. God Bless you and your courage to help your daughter fight for her life.
It is in peoples own self hatred that they have to prey on other people. It's cruel and inhumane. I do hope the authorities can put an end to the ignorance of these parasites.

I will continue to follow on a daily basis and pray for your sweet girl to be home with you soon. God Bless you.

Hi Adam and Aimee-
This is my first blog comment, but I just recently found your story and wanted you to know that I am praying for you. I am a prayer warrior at my church, and I will definitely add you and your family.

I wanted to tell you this. In regards to the negativitely and downright meaness of some people in this world- there is only one explanation. When the devil is kicking your butt, that only means that you're doing something right for God. If you're in His will, then the devil sees this to use every opportunity to get you down and to turn away from God. With all this mess, it only proves that you are most definitely in the Will of God. Keep up the awesome work and know that for as many bad people out there, you have triple the good people in your life.

Take care and God bless,

I am praying that everything is going ok. I guess nonews is great news? I hope little Kayleigh is doing awsome today. I almost named my little girl Kayleigh leann but instead her daddy named her Rebecca Lynn. PLease keep her in your prayers as she has a seizure disorder. I hope everyone of you will hug your healthy children a bit more tightly everyday, no matter how aggraivating they can be. When you have one born so sick like mine was and they have to endure time in the NICU, you appericate them alot more. Well little Kayleigh, we love and are praying for you and your family.

Thank you for sharing ALL of your story. I happened to follow the link to your blog from an article about an angel in the NICU. I have spent the last hour crying and smiling over your little miracle.I am very impressed that you take the time each day to thank God for the miracle of Kayleigh. I will be praying for your family.

Hi Aimee I have been reading your blog the last 2 weeks trying to get caught up. You inspire me so much I cry every time I read your updates. My baby girl is my miracle baby because I couldn't get pregnant and the doc said he was very surprised I had a baby and carried her to term. I had many praying for me in my church and my pastor annoited me. The Lord really takes care of each of us in his own way. I believe he gave you that beautiful baby girl for a reason though you may never know what it is. After I read your blog I hug and kiss my little one very tightly! And we always dance to Over the rainbow when it plays on the blog. Of course I cry the whole time. Hang in there the Lord will take care of you and your beautiful baby girl. We love you!

Praying the GJ-tube does wonders for her! Instead of the gj-tube we did a Nissen Fundoplication (though we've also done a GJ) and it made a huge difference in my daughter's respiratory status. I pray the same holds true for you guys. I pray that her pulmonary hypertension improves and she does not develop Cor Pulmonale (my daughter developed Cor Pulmonale but she also outgrew it).

I just spent about 3 hours reading from the beginning. What an amazing story. It looks like the road is long and still a little scary ahead of your family, especially little miss Kayleigh, but she's definitely a little fighter. Wishing your family all the good thoughts from my own family.
