5/5/09 - A Family Again

Aimee and I almost forgot what it felt like to have a smile on our faces until Allyson and Brandon were able to spend some time with Kayleigh today after waiting for so long. August was the last time they saw her due to RSV season(horrible lung disease) prevented children in the NICU.

The hospital allowed Kayleigh to be moved to a sleep-in room where we could lounge around with her on a bed and allow the kids to hold her and love on her. It was a magical moment and it felt so good to be a family again. It is very sad to say, but this was only our second chance to have a family photo taken together.

I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we enjoyed living them.

God Bless,

What a blessing that they were able to visit their sister, once again. I just cry whenever I look at these pictures. I can NOT even begin to imagine being Allyson and Brandon's age and trying to comprehend/deal with Kayleigh's hospitilization. They are AMAZING children!!!

THANK YOU FOR SHARING!!!

So nice that the hospital made it possible for you to have a place and space for enryone to stretch out.

Kayleigh has the face of an angel.

I'm mad. I'm sad. My heart hurts. Aches actually. God has done so much work through Kayleigh...but I would be lying if I didn't say that I wish His plan was different for her. Just keeping it real. I wish I could squeeze her myself! I was waiting for the little miracle to come walking in to my room in ekidz at church. I'm sure I'm not the only one that was wanting to meet her one day.

I know you have received tons and tons of comments on this post, but I wanted to let you know that these pictures touch my heart. I am so glad that you were able to get them. They brought tears to my eyes knowing the pain you are going through right now. It will be a year this Thursday that I lost my little girl. We too, only had one family picture taken (well, more then one, just all on the same day). I wish that I would have taken more, but I guess I just thought that Ava would come home with us one day (although in the back of my mind the fear was there, I just thought that it couldn't happen to us I guess).

You guys are always in my thoughts and prayers and I am so happy that you all were able to spend time as a family again. I am sure you ALL enjoyed that time. I hope you get plenty more of it.

I know anger isn't a productive emotion sometimes, but I can't help feeling angry with those Doctors. I just found this site a few days ago and read the most recent entries before the beginning. When coming up to the Nissen surgery, I thought oh, don't do it, why do they have to do it!? I can only imagine what your family is feeling, if I am filled with such a mixture of emotions just reading about her. She is a truly strong, brave and most beautiful little girl. She is a perfect little angel.

I am praying for the lord to have his will, but as i do not know what that would be, i am praying that he will continue to show his might and mercy by healing her. In Jesus name, may your healing powers be flowing thru the fibers of this childs brain. I pray dear Jesus, that you gently bind this family with even a stronger love for you, and through this child, are able to reach out and bring others to their knees in humble awareness of your greatness. We love you and yours, Judi and Uncle John
