5/5/09 - A Family Again

Aimee and I almost forgot what it felt like to have a smile on our faces until Allyson and Brandon were able to spend some time with Kayleigh today after waiting for so long. August was the last time they saw her due to RSV season(horrible lung disease) prevented children in the NICU.

The hospital allowed Kayleigh to be moved to a sleep-in room where we could lounge around with her on a bed and allow the kids to hold her and love on her. It was a magical moment and it felt so good to be a family again. It is very sad to say, but this was only our second chance to have a family photo taken together.

I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as we enjoyed living them.

God Bless,

Adam first of all the pictures are great. I went to church for the first time in probably fifteen years Sunday, for Kayleigh. I carried a picture of her with me in my bible, and I had tears in my eyes to whole time I was there. I have prayed more than ever this past week. Kayleigh has showed me how good our god is. I also wanted to ask if you saw the post on your facebook from the lady that said they were told the same thing about her daughter as well and her daughter is 7 now. I read her blog and it gave me so much hope. I'm thinking about you guys every second and praying every half a second. Glad the kids got to hold there sweet miracle sister. Love yall bunches.

PS I hope Kayleigh got her package from me.

I am a new reader to your blog but after reading it i sent it out on my face book and now even more are praying..several times thoughout the last few days i would stop and think of your precious daughter..and all i can think is to pray the words " heal , heal heal" I have probably said it a hundred times i the past few days...thinking of Kayleigh, you and your family. I sit here tonight, looking at your family pics, praying for many more to come...I know the doctors out look is bleak, but do not loose faith in the healing powers of our god.

But he was wounded for our transgressions he was bruised
for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him;
and with his stripes we are healed.

I have heard that "a picture is worth a thousand words". These pictures are worth millions of words. These are memories that will forever be engraved upon your hearts. Kayleigh does look like a little baby doll, but one look at the faces of all of you as you look at Kayleigh, shows she isn't a doll, but one of God's special creations.

Your older kids look so happy to finally hold their baby sister in their arms. I am only so sorry that they had to wait out the RSV season , and therefore miss their baby sister when she was so active and alert prior to her "accident" during surgery.
Prayers continue for your beautiful family.
Why is Kayleigh's skin on her face so shiny and tight? Is that related to her condition? How is her brain swelling doing? Hope it is less.

I think your family should contact TLC and get a reality show. I see that Mckmama wants one for her family, but Your family is just beautiful INSIDE and OUT! I for one, would love to watch! Write to them!
